25.01.2022 View this morning. Apparently there is a new phone tower right outside my window ! Is this a good thing?

25.01.2022 This was one of my favourite books when I started in business. The publisher was Information Australia. I don’t think you could buy it now even if you wanted to. Does anybody know where you can find this now?

25.01.2022 #WorkLifeBalance: I was literally near the top of this mountain when I was called by a customer. It was after a hard day bushwalking for me, a hard day in the office for them. I explained to my client how to solve their issue in their payroll software, we both continued on our ways. In my opinion, this was good for both me and for the customer. I got to spend the day bushwalking with my family, and the customer still got the problem solved faster than they would have othe...rwise. Thanks Andrew Ross novisiblemeans.com for permission to use the photo and #iiNet for the mobile phone coverage.

23.01.2022 Cloudy Bay Lagoon Inlet Painted by David Hopkins What you see in the distance is East Cloudy Head, at the other end of Cloudy Bay. The Lagoon inlet is placid but Cloudy Bay is not.

23.01.2022 This staircase is a symbol of my 2021 challenge. The staircase, which is an actual part of our office building Westella, seems to disappear into the ceiling. It represents risk, because you can’t tell what’s up there, although there is a hint that you might touch the sky, or have a view of the entire world

21.01.2022 Work from home they said.... When you've spent 13 years growing a plant (or a business) then you're going to want to make sure it survives and thrives during the shutdown. You're coming home with me baby.

18.01.2022 As technology changes, we don’t need the same infrastructure we used to. (The Iron Pot pictured in 1920, a year before the lighthouse was automated.) https://www.abc.net.au//the-house-on-the-iron-pot/10473350

15.01.2022 Good news from Commsec regarding Tasmania! First on relative population growth and housing finance! We should remain confident in the Tasmanian business sector. https://www.commsec.com.au//CommSec_State_of_the_States_Ju

15.01.2022 Business Software Tasmania is now an official Xero Partner. Although we have been working with and advising on Xero for years, it has only been since we were registered as a BAS agent earlier this year that we could apply to be an official Xero partner. We were first a software company, and have unique skills for the integration of systems, including Xero API. This means we can get reports and KPIs out of your data, that you might not be able to get any other way.... We offer affordable helpline and implementations of Xero and other software. Contact us if you need this help. https://bussofttas.com.au/contact-us/ The team pictured here is (from left) Joe Zhang (Developer), Graham Legg (Director), Alan Firth (Accountant and BAS Agent), Elaine Jenkins (Marketing and Xero Support). We wish you all a wonderful Xmas and regenerative new year! Thanks Sally Chen from ENE World https://www.facebook.com/ENE-World-113844980530691 (Events Workshops and Media) 181 Elizabeth St for taking the photo!

14.01.2022 Read this. Contact me if you or somebody you know is experiencing this hardship. We've seen a massive trend over the last decade in Australia to move towards funding our domestic universities through the fees that international students pay and now we're in a situation where our international students need us and we're not stepping up.... https://www.abc.net.au//international-students-fi/12116176

09.01.2022 Even previously affordable suburbs, like Glenorchy, are now beyond the means of many. Ultimately we need the building industry, councils and government to create more supply. Do you know anybody whose rent has jumped over 10%? https://www.abc.net.au//tasmania-rent-price-rise-/11587536

08.01.2022 Please cooperate with our boys in blue as they enforce the new laws !! The police have to use their good sense to interpret the announcements. They personally carry the responsibility for getting it right, yet have very little information to go on. Many times, social distancing is not possible when doing their job. (Think about it!) So they are at greater risk of infection. Business Software Tasmania fully supports the work of Tas Police and Police Association of Tasmania.

08.01.2022 As the first state leader to close borders, Gutwein proves he has graduated from treasurer to premier. I thought that he would have trouble rebranding from his very strong treasurer image. Now my doubts are gone. Some even questioned whether his action might contravene the Act of Federation.

02.01.2022 Tasmania remains in top spot on the economic performance rankings. Tasmania leads on four of the eight economic indicators! (Commsec report January 2021) https://www.commsec.com.au//TAS_State_of_the_States_Januar
