Jo Miller - Business Mentor and Small Business Entrepreneur Originally from the UK, Jo’s professional career started in a government arena managing a multi-disciplinary crime reduction partnership. Having moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2003, she found it a challenge to find a position to fit her skills, while her husband, a Porsche Technician applied and was successful in finding 8 jobs! Recognising a ga...p in the market for a European Mechanical business, and while looking for a career on the Coast, she developed SVS Mobile Mechanics, which grew into a very successful business, which was sold in 2018 for a record price. From 2004 to 2007, Jo worked as a Social Policy Officer for Caloundra City Council, writing social strategy and policy documents, such as the Affordable Housing Strategy, Youth Strategy and Aged Care Strategy. Headhunted in 2007, she moved to the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she managed the Regional Projects Management Hub, responsible to preparing 2 Human Capital Strategic documents to inform the development of the University in line with the rapid growth of the region. In 2016, Jo was approached to help other small businesses develop systems and processes to improve efficiencies and increase profit. Since that time, she has worked with a wide range of businesses and successfully helped implement systems, develop processes and improve turnover. Deeply passionate about small business and keeping things simple, one of Jo’s greatest joys is seeing someone else succeed.
