21.01.2022 Running your own business is rewarding and challenging. But it can also be frustrating and exhausting. Sometimes, its hard to see the wood for the trees. I know all about this.... You see, I loved my first business. I didnt mind putting in the long hours. 14 hour days, six days a week for the first year, as you do. However, there was no let-up. I continued to put in the long hours until eventually, I didnt enjoy it anymore. I was starting to burn-out. Sound familiar? I realised I didnt have a life, and my health was suffering. The business was entirely dependent on me. So, when I tried to leave it, nobody wanted to buy it. Nobody wanted to buy my job! Thats because I was the business. Ouch! It was a big decision, but I knew I couldnt go on like this. So I had to close my company down. I felt deflated, sad and defeated. I had worked so hard and put everything into it. It was my baby. I thought, surely there must be a better way to do things. Luckily I had some profits left over from the closure, and so, I used it to invest in my next adventure. A franchise. I learned, there are many ways to run a profitable business.... ....without it being totally dependant on one person. Thats why I do what I do now. So now, when I meet business owners who are on the path to burnout, I can help! Im talking more profits, more systems, a happy team of employees and more time with family. 15.01.2022 I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO... ITS JUST A MATTER OF DOING IT. Right? But things always seem to get in the way, and three months later, I still havent got around to doing what I need to do. So its a matter of getting WHATS IN MY HEAD, OUT OF MY HEAD and onto paper, which really helps me PRIORITISE, PLAN AND PREPARE, so I am in a better place in three months time.... Because Ive got a plan, Im more confident, efficient and profitable! I cant argue with that! More confident because Ive got clear on the baby steps I need to take. More efficient because I focus on PRIORITIES so less likely to get sidetracked More profitable because I focus on ways to generate profit and stop wasting my time on stuff that can be outsourced, automated or delegated. Putting a strategic plan together does require a bit of work. Thats why I call it a workshop. Its not a seminar...a talk or class; you will actually be working on your business, working ON instead of IN your business. "Im too busy" I hear you say!... Yes, we are all busy... its not going to stop... So the only way to find the time is to make the time!! Block out your time and do this exercise. Youll take back control and feel more in power. It helps if you book yourself into a workshop. This workshop is where other business owners are working on their plan of action. At least that way, you are guaranteed to walk away with a proper plan of action for the next few months, specifically for your business.
