25.01.2022 Today were shining a #MemberSpotlight on Lamonts Bishops House, a stunning heritage venue tucked away in its own private gardens in the heart of the city. Owned by the Lamont family, who have been making great food and wine in WAs Swan Valley for more than 40 years, you can be guaranteed that an event at Bishops House will be an experience like none other. The House itself was built in the 1850s as the residence of the Anglican Bishop of Western Australia, but its been ...the venue we know and love it as today for 10 years now. With capacity for up to 150 guests seated or 250 cocktail, an event at Lamonts Bishops House is a surreal blend of manicured gardens and heritage timber, staged within a concrete jungle of city sky rises and urban modernity. #BEPerthMember #SaveEvents #supportingWAevents

24.01.2022 As restrictions ease in Western Australia, meeting face to face is once again a possibility. This of course means we can get back to one of the things the events industry does so well; networking! Big thanks to Encanta Event Management for inviting our team along to the Subiaco Hotel last week so that we could reconnect with our local events suppliers and get to chatting about the future of events. #SaveEvents #supportingWAevents #BEPerth #MeetingProfs #EventProfs

Located just 40 minutes south of Perth, Rockingham is where the coast comes alive, offering beachside charm and relaxed vibes only a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of city life. Also in the area are Australian sea lions, who reside on the local Seal Island! 22.01.2022 It's great to see exhibitions taking place once again in Western Australia! In early September, @Encanta Event Management were called on to organise StudyPerth, Australia's International Education and Careers Expo, and in only five short weeks they planned, coordinated, and delivered the first major exhibition to take place in Perth since event restrictions were first introduced in March. Taking place at the @Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the expo attracted 1100 reg...istrants from Perth, interstate and overseas who attended either in-person, or online thanks to AVPartners. Hear from Jade Riolo, Encanta's Director West Coast Events, about how this event came together and how the funding support offered by Business Events Perth helped them #EventHereNow #BEPerth #StudyPerth #EventProfs #MeetingProfs #MeetInAus #supportingWAevents
22.01.2022 Great news for the business events industry today from Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo), with the announcement of a $50 million stimulus package to reignite the sector. BE Perth chief executive Gareth Martin has welcomed the Support fund, dedicated to restarting business events. The business events sector has been one of the hardest hit by COVID-19 and the announcement of grants between $10,000 and $250,000 to stimulate the sector is a significant step on the road to re...covery, Mr Martin said. The re-start of business events will not only be critical to the recovery of the visitor economy, it will also be important to Australias broader economic recovery. Business events are a front door for investment and trade and are a forum to collaborate and exchange knowledge and showcase Australias research and professional expertise and capacity. The Business Events Council of Australia, working with the Australian Association of Convention Bureaux, should be congratulated on securing this unprecedented funding commitment from the Federal Government. Under the Australian Business Events Grants Program, approved business events, including meetings conventions, incentives and exhibitions, will be able to apply for upfront grants to cover up to 50 per cent of their costs (between $10,000 and $250,000). 19.01.2022 This week, we celebrated our wonderful Project Manager Mitchel McCuish’s five year work anniversary with us here at Business Events Perth. Mitch came to us from the more technical side of the events industry, having previously worked for AVPartners as an AV tech at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, and joined us in the role of Business Development Manager. Over the years, his role has changed a little bit as we discovered Mitch has a flair for the creative, and so he ...progressed into the role of Project Manager, where he has played a big role in shaping our brand identity and the development of exciting projects such as our interactive business event planner. Mitch is also responsible for sating our staff’s sweet tooth, and is known for producing fabulous cheesecakes whenever there’s a birthday to celebrate- so of course we had to return the favour with two cakes for his half-decade celebration! Three cheers to five years Mitch!
19.01.2022 Last week, we held our first in-person member educational event of the year, to provide our members with an update on Business Events Perth's recovery strategies, latest funding initiative for State based events, major bid wins, Aspire program, and upcoming marketing initiatives. Following months of online events and email communications to our members, it was great to get back to meeting in person, to discuss the future of business events in Perth now that it is safe to mee...t in Perth once again. A special thank you goes to our venue partner, QT Perth, for providing a COVID-safe event set up, which included a socially distanced theatre style set up, with chairs spaces 1.5 metres apart, individually packaged morning tea, and hand sanitising stations throughout. The event was also live streamed to an audience who were watching from home, thanks to the audio visual solutions engineered by our event AV partner, Encore Event Technologies APAC. This was our second hybrid event, and we encourage anyone who is considering holding a hybrid event in Perth to reach out if you would like to know more about this type of event set-up. Thank you to all our members who attended, and we look forward to seeing your friendly faces again soon at our next event. Images: David Broadway - Photographer

18.01.2022 You may recall that during the worst of Western Australia's coronvirus shut down, Pan Pacific Hotel Perth were involved in the pilot of a program that housed 20 homeless individuals to reduce the risk they were facing due to COVID-19. This is where Bobby's BBQ Truck comes in. If you find yourself in the area..., why not stop in at Bobby's and grab yourself a bacon and egg roll, with 100% of profits going towards Ruah Community Services, a homeless outreach organisation. You can even #payitforward and pre-purchase a bacon and egg roll and coffee for those who can't afford to buy their own. 04.01.2022 Business Events Perth can’t wait to welcome interstate business delegates to our beautiful state in two weeks’ time! Following Premier Mark McGowan's announcement today, from November 14th Western Australia will have a controlled border allowing visitors from Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, the ACT and the NT, which are considered very low risk areas (no community cases for the past 28 days) to travel into the State, and will no longer be required to self-quar...antine. Those travelling from New South Wales and Victoria will be allowed to enter Western Australia, but at this stage will have to isolate for 14 days in a suitable location on arrival. We’ve been fortunate in Western Australia that we’ve been able to meet in person at business events since June, and we’ve experienced incredible success in getting Western Australians together again at state-based events. We’ve supported more than 50 business events these last few months, bringing local West Aussies together to connect and collaborate by sharing ideas and knowledge, and we look forward to welcoming delegates from very low risk areas to Western Australia to once again experience the incredible venues and experiences we have on offer. #EventHereNow #BEPerth #WesternAustralia #MeetInAus
