08.01.2022 It is a common mistake. Throw money at a something and expect (or hope) for a result. Most often seen in advertising spend. An ad's not bringing in any business at $20 a day, so we'd better make it $100 a day. !... It's not going to work any better. It's just going to mean you'll be wasting 5 times as much money on something that isn't working. A friend of mine created a training DVD a few years back and had thousands of them printed before he tried to sell them. When he went tro try and sell them, most people wanted a download, because a lot of them no longer had DVD drives in their tables and ultra-thin laptops. In the end, he couldn't even give them away. I can show you the hundreds (even thousands) of dollars I spent on Google and FB ads before I realised that it wasn't working... The real problem was that I didn't have a system that worked. One way to convert a feature into a benefit is to add 'so that' to it. e.g. We are open 24 hours a day, so that you can come anytime without wondering if we are open. When you get used to answering the 'so that', turn it around and lead with the benefit. So, what youll get is an anytime shopping experience that is convenient for you, because we are open 24 hours a day. Find out what your customers want by asking them what's important to them. If they tell you they want X, then give them X. then make a point of telling prospects you can give them X too.
