24.01.2022 Fantastic news for the grand old Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse - she's been named a finalist in the Western Australian Heritage Awards. The lighthouse was built in 18...95 to keep mariners safe, along with three limestone cottages for the lighthouse keepers and their families to reside. In December last year, one of the cottages was transformed into an interactive time capsule - a mini museum filled with artefacts, animated technology and fascinating stories of the families who once lived at the tallest lighthouse in mainland Australia. It’s this wonderful, compact musuem, the Lightkeeper’s Cottage Interpretive Centre that’s up for the award, and well worth putting on your 'must visit' list along with a guided lighthouse tour. 14.01.2022 Lobelia gibbosa growing in the bushland near the cave. It typically blooms from November to March, so it'll be popping up soon! The dainty orchids and other ...wildflowers blossoming around the cave change almost on a weekly basis, as certain flowers only bloom for a handful of days each year. So it doesn't matter when you last visited, it's always worth taking a bush walk after your cave tour! See more
