21.01.2022 BCC Clif Bars The Motley Crew Claes Club president and living-legend, Claes may well be the nicest man in cycling. Plagued by injuries this year, he has taken a rather unique approach to this year’s TOMR preparations with the less is more theory being taken to new extremes. Will continue smiling no matter what happens.... Wayne Club secretary and committee stalwart who adds enthusiasm and commitment to everything he does. May well hold the highest FTP value in the whole of Western Australia and has developed a serious Zwift-habit. Hilly terrain may not suit him, but he will be guaranteed to give 100% on every stage. Heath Mr Fat Duck is another rider with a serious Zwift-addiction. Appears to be peaking at the right time and has been showing some seriously good form heading into the TOMR. Has been working tirelessly behind the scenes trying to capture some sponsorship for BCC’s assault on this year’s event. Definitely one to watch. Deke Briefly hanging-up his swimming and running gear in order to ride at this year’s TOMR along with his triathlon training partners. This is a rider with a serious endurance pedigree. Likely to be one of the team’s TTT powerhouses. Brett Another member of the Criddle Mafia returning from the Big Smoke to represent BCC at this year’s TOMR. Diesel engine who will be key to the team’s TTT success. Current form represents a bit of an unknown. Guaranteed to always give his all for the team. Brendan Another young-gun with a triathlon background resulting in a massive endurance base. Strong showing at the recent Hoppy Challenge combined with his giant status will mean he is one of the riders hoping to help the team to a decent TTT placing. Expect a strong showing

17.01.2022 Yes team management have dragged the old war horse out of retirement, not a course really suited to him, but may play a part role in the team time trial sections.

15.01.2022 Tomorrow sees the start of the 2017 Tour of Margaret River, with all 4 stages based around the Nannup area over the 3 days we will get to see some interesting r...acing, whilst the climbers will have the advantage for most of the tour their will be chances for the sprinters shine. It is great to have a record number of teams representing the Busselton Cycle Club. We would like to encourage our fellow club members who are not racing to take some time to come down and support us, all the riders enjoy seeing a friendly face out on the course. We also appreciate all of our team staff who take the time to come along and help us out where required. Good luck to all of our club members who are racing the 2017 Tour of Margaret River. See more

12.01.2022 We have saved the best till last. Look out boys the BCC have their strongest girls team ever!!! Thanks again to Jamie for the BCC teams info. if you have any results or photos you would like posted please pm the club and we will put them up Fat Duck Cycles BCC Women BCC are delighted to be able to enter our own ladies team into this year’s TOMR. This would not have been possible without the support of Fat Duck Cycles... Carol Carol is a club stalwart who has been racking up the kilometres in preparation for this year’s event. She consistently performs well above her own expectations. If she can overcome her self-doubt then she will perform strongly and contribute significantly to the team’s performance. Pam Another member of the Criddle Mafia returning to her roots to represent BCC. Her cycling skills have been refined through years of trying to stay on Neil’s wheel and the result is a woman who is exceptionally strong across all disciplines. The hilly terrain on Stages 2 and 3 will suit her. She will also play a key role in the TTT stages. Expect fireworks. Katie Temporarily poached from the Triathlon-scene, Katie has recently returned from a fantastic showing in Kona. She has a very solid endurance base to work from although her 5 hour wind-trainer sessions over the winter suggest that she may not be the full-shilling. Loves to go up hills and if she can overcome her fear of cornering then she should perform well. Melina Mrs Fat Duck is another who has seen the light and (at least temporarily) decided to give road racing a go. Usually to be found close to Katie and Deke on training rides including those marathon trainer sessions- enough said! Will be strong in the TTT. Jane Newcomer to Busselton who has embraced the ethos of the club and has kindly taken on the role of Team Manager. She should be suited to the hilly parcours and will give 100% on every stage, with a smile on her face. If her enthusiasm could be bottled then we would all be winners. Jenine Young gun who has also seen the light and moved across from triathlon since her strong showing at Delirium. Affectionately known as one-gear Jenine due to her love of grinding that enormous gear. Appears to be getting stronger by the day and will undoubtedly go well across all stages. Expect to see her at the pointy-end of Stages 2 and 3.

09.01.2022 Our big signing for this years tour is Eddy Hollands, we have been after him for a long time and are wrapped to have him on our team.

07.01.2022 BCC2 The Larrikins Roger Founder member of the Three Musketeers, this proud Yorkshireman has a background in elite-level triathlon. Don’t be fooled by his relaxed demeanour, this man has a serious competitive streak. Once he gets up to speed, his diesel engine carries some serious horsepower. Will be one of the teams TTT workhorses.... Soeren Needs no introduction. Club strong-man from Denmark. Has dropped down to BCC2 in order to experience their legendary pre-race carb-loading preparations. Will be at home on this year’s hilly terrain and could well cause some fireworks as he dishes out some serious pain. Don’t be surprised to see him at the pointy-end of proceedings on all stages. Steve Team Manager by default due to the fact that he was pinpointed as the most sensible team member- not a hard contest to win. Do not be fooled by his Veteran status, this rider can race and party with the best of them. Another member of the Three Musketeers with a superbly strong diesel engine. Will be at home in the TTTs. Danish Mike The Copper from Copenhagen (or near enough). Childhood friend of Soeren who has been drafted in to add some firepower. Famous for his thighs and unique seated sprinting technique, Mike has some serious speed to burn as demonstrated by his win last weekend. He has become a target for the Busselton Magpie Community and he will be hoping they do not unseat him in Nannup. Joel A rider with fantastic pedigree who has unfortunately been beset by injury this year. Seems to be hitting form at the right time. Likes to lead-out the sprinters but possesses a mean kick himself. His experience will be crucial to the team’s success. If he can get to the finish then he could be a dark horse for Stage 2. Mick Last minute substitute for the 3rd musketeer. Represents a bit of an unknown quantity at the moment due to his extended leave of absence through Paternity Leave. Loves to drop Watt-bombs and his ability to man-handle and destroy bikes is legendary. Stage 3 finish atop the Mur de Hay is tailor-made for him- definitely one to watch out for if his lack of miles don’t count against him.

06.01.2022 They say the Melbourne cup stops the nation, however around here its the tour of Margaret river that brings the excitement. The BCC has 4 teams racing this year. Thanks to Jamie we have some team lists for you. BCC 1 The fast boys. ... Jarryd The artist formerly known as Hollywood is the team’s poster boy. Phenomenally strong rider with a background in Mr Universe contests. Has been on an exponential development curve since his first race a year ago. Loves to sprint and then to analyze his power data. Will have an eye on the Stage 3 finish atop the Mur de Hay and is likely to know exactly what power output he needs to post a KOM- don’t bet against him doing so. Nick Mountain-biking pom. Currently riding in peak form after a winter on Zwift. If he can remember how to ride outside then he will play a key role particularly during the TTT stages. However, do not on any account let this man perform any mechanical repairs on your bike nor mention his last attempt at servicing his own bike prior to Cape to Cape Stage 1. You have been warned. Neil Part of the Criddle Mafia by default. Has been drafted in from the Big Smoke to provide some serious firepower. Originally from God’s Country, this quietly spoken rider may well be the team’s secret weapon and represents one of the strongest riders in BCC kit. An absolute coup to have him riding for us. Paul Another ringer drafted in from Perth via his long-term friendship with Mr Fat Duck. Superbly powerful all-rounder who will add some much-needed experience and race-craft. Forevermore to be known as The Analyst, his analytical mind and attention to detail will be fundamental to any team success. Appears to have no weaknesses and is definitely one to watch. Ben Young-gun from Bunbury with a superb pedigree on the Track and in criteriums. Brings the average age of the team down massively. Will likely perform well across all stages although the hilly parcours may not be to his liking. Possesses a decent kick in a fast finish. Jamie Club Vice-president who is performing the role of Team Manager. Main role within the team is to confuse teammates and non-teammates alike by barking orders in an incomprehensible accent. Favourite terrain is the hills- the steeper the better- which is precisely the reason he moved to Busselton 3 years ago. This year’s parcours should suit him.

04.01.2022 "Without Holden's support, we wouldn't have the opportunity to race at a national level, be the leading team in Australia; they're on a journey with us" Thanks ...CyclingTips and Holden Women's Racing for giving me the chance to share my thoughts and show that you don't have to be a spring chicken to be an elite athlete - all you need is determination, grit and bloody hard work! #Holden #LetsGoThere

02.01.2022 The Grinders team for the 2017 edition of Tour of Margaret River is now finalised. After a good hit out in the Delirium 2017 earlier this year, our 2 tour debut...ants are ready to go. Mike Rossiter Mclaren the big team sprinter will be looking to get on the board early. All rounder Craig Hynes will provide some valuable protection to our GC rider having shown in his past he is capable of doing so. Watch out these 2 See more

01.01.2022 Some great results for Busselton at the 2017 Sate Open Road Championships. Erin Kinnealy dominated the Open Women’s with a solo breakaway from midway into the 91km race. Sarah McLachlan winning the bunch sprint in masters and bringing home the gold, and also coming away with a second in the open women’s race .Lee Scurlock came second in the tough Men’s Masters 30-39 race, leading the group home in the bunch sprint after missing a sneaky breakaway early in the race. Sunday wa...s also the last event in the local SWCC team series held out at Mowan rd. Busselton had a strong presence across division 1 and 2. Notable efforts Courtland Wood taking out the KOM in Div 2 and Jarrod Heldt second place in the Div 1 KOM. A big thank you to everyone at SWCC for holding another great series.
