24.01.2022 CORONAVIRUS In response to current concerns about Coronavirus, club members are urged to: 1. Maintain wiping down equipment before and after use. 2. Use their own towels to wipe their face and body.... 3. Refrain from coming to the gym if feeling unwell. 4. Keep a sensible perspective on the situation. 5. Follow the Department of Health’s guidelines for prevention, this includes: frequent hand washing; refraining from touching the mouth and nose; covering the nose and mouth with tissue paper or a flexed elbow (not hands) when coughing or sneezing; disposing of soiled tissues immediately after use; avoiding close contact with anyone with cold or flu-like symptoms (maintaining a distance of at least 1.5 metres) Please note that expert medical and health advice highlights the importance of moderate exercise in developing and maintaining an individual’s immune function. 16.01.2022 ATTENTION MEMBERS REMINDER CLUB CLOSED 16-18 SEPTEMBER 2020 Just a reminder that from Wednesday 16 September to Friday 18 September 2020 the Busselton Fitness Club will be closed to repair the portico that was damaged due to a fallen tree. ... Works will be carried out by WA External Solutions, who advised that, for safety reasons, it is not possible for the club to remain open. It is possible the club may be reopened on Friday, but this cannot be guaranteed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

15.01.2022 Have you left your watch behind at the Busselton Fitness Club.

12.01.2022 CLOSURE UPDATE - FURTHER CLOSURE TO TAKE PLACE 21 SEPTEMBER TO 22 SEPTEMBER 2020 WA External Solutions commenced works today but unfortunately have two vital components missing in order to finish the portico. The site has been made safe and the Club is now open for use until Monday 21 September 2020.... For safety reasons the Club will be closed from Monday 21 September to Tuesday 22 September 2020 for works to be completed. We once again apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. It's not ideal, however, it is very much out of the control of the Club.

10.01.2022 YES - We are open today, so come on down and do your work out.

09.01.2022 CLUB OPENING ON MONDAY - 29 JUNE 2020 We are pleased to advise that the Busselton Fitness Club will be reopening its doors on Monday, 29 June 2020. Your Committee is working hard to ensure the Club will open safely. We are currently in the process of organising a COVID Safety Plan. Once completed the COVID Safety Plan Certificate will be displayed at the Club. ... Members are all required to mitigate the risks of COVID-19. When returning to the Club you will need to: Maintain a minimum of two square metres (2sqm) per person. Do not work out in big groups. Practise good hygiene and wash your hands regularly additional hand sanitiser will be located throughout the Club. Ensure you use it regularly. Ensure physical distancing some equipment may be taped to ensure distancing is maintained. If you can touch the person next to you, you are too close - 1.5m or two big steps please! Wipe down equipment after use. Sanitiser wipes have always and will continue to be provided, please use them. Cleaning will be carried out daily. If you are unwell stay at home! We all need to do our part to comply with these requirements and help mitigate the risks of COVID-19. We will have signage in place to remind you how you can remain safe. The Committee will commence reactivating cards. All current members as at 23 March 2020 will have their card expiry amended by three months. Please check your renewal date at the Club, especially those who would have ordinarily renewed at the end of March you will need to renew immediately in order to access the Club. We look forward to seeing you back at the Club.

08.01.2022 Happy AUSTRALIA DAY everyone! Enjoy this magical summer day in Busselton.

07.01.2022 Just letting you know that the Club will be forced to CLOSE by midday TODAY 23 March 2020, as announced by Prime Minister Scott Morrison last night, and for the safety of our members, we will keep you posted.

07.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE As per the State Government’s regulations we are required to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 by safely operating the premises, including: maintain a strict limit of a minimum of 4 square metres (4sqm) per person ensure a maximum of 20 people per venue (subject to specific guidance on multipurpose venues) ... maintain hygiene and frequent cleaning self-complete a COVID Safety Plan prior to re-opening/recommencing activity, and display a COVID Safety Plan Certificate maintain attendance records for the purposes of contact tracing close communal showers and change rooms - toilets may remain open only non-contact training and non-contact sport (e.g. no bumping, boxing, tackling, wrestling or holding) manage ingress and egress to ensure social distancing no shared equipment disinfect equipment between use only open if supervised/staff available to conduct regular cleaning and enforce distancing As you can appreciate, the Club is not for profit/volunteer based and it is unrealistic, at this stage, for it to reopen. As an unmanned gym we would not be able to control the number of members, take registration of members who have visited the premises, nor would we be able to ensure the compliance of social distancing and the non-sharing of equipment (virtually impossible in a communal gym). We hope you can appreciate the difficult position the Club is in and we hope to be better placed to review the reopening at Stage 3 of the State Government’s announcements, where restrictions may be further relaxed. 04.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE 2 JUNE 2020 THE CLUB TO REMAIN CLOSED AT THIS STAGE Unfortunately the Club will remain closed at this stage, as it cannot sustain the conditi...ons implemented by State Government in order for it to reopen. Currently the Club would need to be staffed and would require implementing additional hygiene measures, practise physical and social distancing, control maximum occupancy and maintain an attendance record for contact tracing in the event of a positive case of COVID-19. While we have had an army of keen volunteers to get the Club open, it is simply not feasible or sustainable at this stage. The Committee will again review the Club’s status after the next State Government announcement and again, it is hoped that further easing of restrictions will allow our doors to be opened while keeping everyone safe. Thank you to all our Committee Members who are doing their best to navigate the Club through this difficult period. Memberships remain on hold until such time as we can reopen.
