04.01.2022 A deep low-pressure system is travelling towards WA, bringing heavy rain and strong winds for nearly the whole of the west coast this Sunday! This is a rare... event for this time of year and it's due to the remnants of a tropical low tracking towards WA and interacting with a cold front, causing the low to deepen. The last time an event like this occurred was June 2012, which led to over 600 calls for assistance and over 170,000 homes losing power. Bureau of Meteorology has produced an animation to show the predicted track for the low-pressure system, which will determine areas predicted to cop the worst of the weather. Most storm damage is preventable, so it's important you start getting ready over the coming days by: - Tying down loose items (like those pesky trampolines) - Check your roof for any damaged tiles and clear your gutters - Pack away outdoor furniture and items that could be moved by winds - Trimming any branches near your house Keep up to date as the situation changes Find the latest alerts and warnings at https://bit.ly/2fU94Yo Keep an eye on the weather at https://bit.ly/2WRuj0x Find your local ABC Radio Station: https://ab.co/2XnaMnU When you need SES assistance after severe weather, call 132 500
