The closure this industry has had devastating impacts on not only ou...r physical health but also our mental health too. This is to say nothing of the extraordinary difficulty faced by gym operators and personal trainers who have been unable to earn an income for more than 6 months now. For many, exercising within fitness facilities (whether it be in small groups of individually) carries an immeasurable benefit for their mental well-being as well as their sense of social connectedness and inclusion. We must also remember that the use of fitness facilities plays an important part in the ongoing treatment and recovery of those suffering from severe injuries and chronic physical conditions. Originally, the Premier was saying that these gyms were going to be opening in at the end of October. Now he seems to have changed his mind and pushed it back to the end of November. That is just way too long, way too long.
