In consultation with key stakeholders the Career Facilitator will identify current and emerging skills shortages in the region, with a focus on entry-level employment opportunities in occupations underpinned by training in the VET sector and with a major focus on traditional trade occupations. The Career Facilitator will work directly with schools’, career advisors and the other key staff members, to target Years and 12 students to encourage them to build skills and choose occupations in demand in the region to complement completion of secondary education. The Career Facilitator will act as a liaison point with the wider community, to enable students to access training and other pathways that link to local employment. These pathways may include Australian School Based Apprenticeships and Australian Apprenticeships. You will be able to assist in facilitating training and professional development for industry mentors, trainers, educators and teachers and you will work closely with the local community to assist in finding sustainable employment and training pathways for young people. 08.01.2022 Congratulations to Kaila Norsgaard who has recently signed up with Beefy's Pies as an apprentice pastry chef through Australian Industry Trade College - Sunshine Coast. COVID-19 restricted Kaila's plans of work experience in her chosen industry however she showed great courage and continued to pursue her dream. Eventually Kaila was offered a 6 week placement at Beefy's Pies main processing plant and after impressing all the staff at Beefy's with her skills, hard work and cheerful attitude she was offered an apprenticeship. The team at BUSY At Work are so pleased to have been able to assist with the sign up of Kaila's new apprenticeship and are proud to be part of her journey as a new apprentice. We look forward to supporting both Kaila and her new employer throughout the apprenticeship.
