19.01.2022 Thank you for avoiding non-essential travel and staying indoors. If youre looking to pop out for some quick exercise, just remember there are still cars and tr...ucks on the road you need to look out for. As always, the road is there for all of us to share: - If youre or look out before you step out onto the road at all times. - If youre or take extra care riding around trucks and cars. - If youre watch out for pedestrians and bicycle riders and dont forget to always check your blind spots. #ContinueTowardsZero

05.01.2022 UPDATE ON COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS FROM TOMORROW MONDAY 1 JUNE 2020 More restrictions will ease across NSW tomorrow as we continue on the journey of reopening th...e economy in a COVID-safe way. Each and everyone of us has a role to play on this journey. It is vital businesses and their patrons follow health and safety guidelines, to ensure we keep people in jobs and businesses in business. We must not become complacent, especially when it comes to maintaining physical distancing. I think weve all accepted that life will be different until we have an effective treatment or a vaccine. Thus far, our region has done an incredible job of acting responsibly, following the rules and sacrificing for the greater good. I couldnt be more proud of our towns, villages and communities. Our positive COVID-19 cases have remained static across both Murrumbidgee Local Health District and Western NSW Local Health District for several weeks now and we dont any of these gains lost. In addition to maintaining physical distancing and practising good hygiene, I cannot stress highly enough, the importance of testing. Even if you experience the mildest symptoms - a sore throat or runny nose - please get yourself tested. There are free Mobile Testing Facilities for our smaller towns and villages, and our GPs, hospitals and medical centres have stepped up to meet the COVID-19 testing needs right across the electorate and beyond. From tomorrow (1 June 2020) the following will be allowed: Pubs, clubs, casinos, cafes and restaurants can have up to 50 customers per separate seated food and drink area Travel to anywhere in NSW for a holiday Up to 50 people can attend places of worship and attend a funeral Up to 20 guests can attend weddings Zoos, aquariums and reptile parks are allowed to open Beauty, nail, tanning and waxing salon operators can begin treatments Camping grounds and caravan parks can open; and Museums, galleries and libraries are allowed to open The rules on gathering remain the same: five visitors to a home, and 10 people outside. All businesses reopening must comply with the one person per four square metre rule. There are also guidelines for business to have COVIDSafe plans in place. A link to industry guidelines is here: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/industry-guidelines For anyone seeking further information, please find a link to the health orders here: https://gazette.legislation.nsw.gov.au/so/download.w3p For the latest information please go to www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19 Our offices are also able to help people in the Cootamundra Electorate, so please reach out. Stay safe. Sx

01.01.2022 IMPORTANT CORONAVIRUS UPDATE Heres a summary of what was announced last night by the Prime Minister, following the National Cabinet meeting: CLOSURES... The following will be closed from noon today (Monday, 23 March): Registered and licensed pubs and clubs (not the accommodation areas); licensed premises in hotels and pubs; entertainment venues and cinemas, casinos and nightclubs; restaurants and cafes are restricted to takeaway only; indoor sporting venues and gyms; religious gatherings, places of worship (funerals and gatherings of that nature will have to follow the strict 4 square metre rule indoors) Off-licensed places such as bottle shops are exempt from above restrictions. All other businesses can remain open e.g. hairdressers, beauticians, shopping centres. TRAVEL Recommend against all non-essential travel in Australia. Many states are closing their borders to non-residents of that state, unless it is for essential travel reasons e.g. for work, compassionate reasons and essential deliveries. Some are putting in place quarantine measures from Tuesday where you will have to remain at the border for 14 days to self-isolate. (e.g. WA, SA.) It is recommended to cancel school holiday trips interstate. SCHOOLS Schools will officially remain open for those who want/need to send their children. But, parents are allowed to keep their kids at home, where they choose to. UPDATE (8.14am) - Parents are ENCOURAGED to keep their children at home wherever practical to do so. Schools will also seek to provide distance learning but it will take some time. Schools will be open after the school holidays, subject to ongoing health advice. HOLIDAYS No trips interstate trips. COLES/WOOLLIES: They have increased resources for home care packages like meals on wheels. Deliveries are now able to happen 24 hours/day. Now marked areas that indicate how far away you should stand from the next person to enforce 4 metres square people. Please share this post to help get accurate information out to those who need to have it. Take care and stay safe everyone. Until the next update. Sx
