25.01.2022 Stress Down Day - 24th July. After everything that has been going on over the past few months, stress is #1 on most peoples list. This can affect a lot of things including relationships, work ethic, sleep loss, blood pressure and most importantly physical and mental health. These are a few tips to help you stress down;... Now restrictions are finally easing we can spend time with our friends and family, talking and socialising is a good way to get that excess weight lifted off your shoulders. Take a break, listen to some relaxing music or your favourite song as this help lower blood pressure. Exercising or going for a walk is a great way to release stress. All forms of exercise, including yoga and walking, can ease depression and anxiety by helping the brain release feel-good chemicals and by giving your body a chance to practice dealing with stress. Regular physical activity will also improve the quality of your sleep which will help you de-stress. If you cant identify the main causes of your stress, try keeping a stress journal. Make note of when you become most anxious and see if you can determine a pattern, then try and find ways to remove or lessen those triggers. If you feel none of the above is working for yourself or others please contact us at Butler Family Practice to make an appointment to see your doctor.
