But after a short stint parted ways with his horse and ended up serving with the 39th Infantry Battalion in New Guinea. He was one of the lucky ones who survived the Kokoda, came home and married his sweetheart. Going on to run a business, have 3 children and continue to service his local community with the local sports club and Rotary. He never talked much about the war days - but like so many others suffered ill health as a result of his service. Thank you for being the great man that you were. He was Andrews dad.
