25.01.2022 Jeans for Genes Day 2020 will be on Friday, 7th August! Come dressed in your favourite jeans and help us to raise awareness. This national event supports Childrens Medical Research Institute and helps find cures for childrens genetic diseases.

24.01.2022 There are all sorts of children, quiet, introverted, loud, quiet, movers, dreamers... The idea is not that one choice or preference is better than another,... but just that our society needs to provide better choices to children at all. What would a child choose? We cant answer that truthfully until our children are provided not only with an option to choose but also exposed to a culture that provides exposure and equal access and support to both choices. Often our society and systems tell us that our children prefer something, but the reality is that there were simply no equally nourishing options presented. That is especially true with nature immersion. Freedom is not about equal access to a single option, it is about support for a myriad of preferences, choices and paths. Just like so many adults, upon growing up and finding our own way, realized we desired all along - access to choices that were as unique, varied and rich as we are. So going back, what would you choose, if given the chance? See more

16.01.2022 Child protection is everyones business. Lets work together to make sure children are safe and protected against harm. Listen to your child. Dont be afraid to talk to your child and help them understand the dangers. One thing I have learnt through training and feel it is essential to pass on, is to teach your child the correct name of their body parts, dont be afraid to use correct terminology. 02.01.2022 NAIDOC CELEBRATIONS Our adventures today took us into a world of dress ups. Miss Andrea and Miss Daisy wore their Island dresses and helped some of the children to dress up in improvised cultural costumes. The Torres Strait music was playing throughout the day which is a familiar sound to most of the indigenous children. We spent part of our time outside under the shade building our grass hut cubby. The children were happy and enthusiastic helpers, adding the palm leaves to... the cubby and hopping inside with a sense of pride. A few photos were taken in front of the Torres Strait Flag and at the grass hut where we sang and learnt actions to the song 'Taba Naba'! A story was shared with the group before lunch. A large picture book about the Torres Strait Even some face painting was initiated during the art activity. Children learn to use their imagination and copy things they have seen at another time and place. See more

02.01.2022 Toddlers participated in National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Day with a sensory experience yesterday. We recreated the Aboriginal flag on our palms using paints before transferring it to paper. All children demonstrated that they enjoyed this experience and sometimes found it quite ticklish when I brushed their palms over with paint. After painting palms we extended our sensory experience with painting the indigenous flag on our cheeks. I was amazed at how still everyone sat as I painted their cheek with the flag.

01.01.2022 White Balloon Day is a platform for helping our children to feel safe. We discussed the fact that everyone has the right to feel safe. We talked about people in our lives who we can trust to keep us safe. These are the people we can go to for help if we have a No feeling that makes us feel unsafe. We used our hand prints to recognise and express who these people in our families and community are. We also created a white balloon collage to engage our fine motor skills and develop a can do attitude of confidence.
