08.01.2022 Sometimes nature does the work for us! Our Lonely Button Wrinklewort has been dating again and Ben has been out traversing the countryside collecting flowerheads and manually pollinating Button. But last week, this native Hairy Flower Wasp beat him to the punch!... Ben wasn't too worried though - sometimes its just nice to sit back and enjoy watching a relationship develop naturally. 06.01.2022 Landholders protecting grasslands has led to some great discoveries recently. While not as cool as the Button Wrinklewort, this hairy fellow and royal purple flower are pretty spectacular!

03.01.2022 It's been a busy end to the year for the Button Wrinkllewort team! In the last week the VVP team have been out collecting seed from south-west Victoria’s few isolated populations of Button Wrinklewort with the aim of growing even more baby buttons in the new year. Based on research with Monash University and the Arthur Rylah Institute we now know which populations need some genetic assistance and which populations will make good gene donors. ... This week we started bagging flower heads at Rokewood and Wickliffe, two genetically healthy populations. Over the next year we’ll be growing plants from this seed to supplement some of the smaller populations. Work to recovery Button’s population at Caramut is also continuing, with another season of hand pollination and seed collection. There are still a few flowers hanging on, with the team celebrating the end of 2020 with one last date for the season next week.
