23.01.2022 If you have not heard of Clancy Paine then let us introduce you. She is a photophrapher from Narromine NSW who has a knack for capturing the unplanned moments in life in the most glorious way. The twinkle in someone's eye. A wry grin or a triumphant stance. 18.01.2022 The festivity. The fun. The family. The forgotten gifts and hastily wrapped chocolates to compensate. The laughter. The afternoon lull. The indulgence. The fact that for that one day, we can ignore the niggling stresses and global pandemics. It all feels particularly important in 2020, no? To all who are not celebrating in the way they had hoped, we hope there’s moments of joy and peace. To all who are hard at work on the day when so many will be resting, we hope it’s a goo...d work day. We hope you get the odd laugh. (Or a good song plays at just the right moment and it makes you smile). It’s a year for acknowledging the good things. Happy Christmas! #buyfromthebush

14.01.2022 It started with a phone call. An offer of help. Fast forward 18 months and she’s now what I like to call our ‘weapon’. Over the last year and a half Georgie Robertson has worked (without pay ) helping BFTB share our message with Australia (and sometimes even those poor buggers who live outside Australia ). Without a doubt, her conversation with @emilyherbertwrites is my favourite episode of @graziher’s Ladies of the Land podcast to date! (Link in bio). It’s a yar...n about PR, running a business, determination, talent and good gut instinct. Georgie’s generosity, hard work and uncanny ability to sniff out an opportunity has contributed to a wealth of rural stories being seen, heard and understood. What a legacy George. (Although let’s not start talking about legacies. Still so much to do!). This is our favourite kind of post btw. One where we get to celebrate the coming together of so many talented people living and working in the bush. This episode is produced by @skyemanson and these photos were captured by @clancyjob. You can purchase a copy or subscribe to @graziher on the BFTB marketplace too. How good is the bush! #thanksgeorgie #forerrrrrrrything #buyfromthebush @ Coolamon, New South Wales See more

13.01.2022 Across the country at Christmas time, people are popping things in the mailbox to be collected on the way. Wrapped presents (shoved in to plastic bags to avoid the dust or rain), forgotten favourite toys, a critical machinery part, a litre of milk (inevitably a little warm by the time you collect), a plate of slice (melted), a book swap. On the way is a loose term too. What’s a 50km detour when you are travelling so many to break bread with family at Christmas? It’s o...ne of my favourite things about living in the bush. A mailbox is often a bus stop. A meeting place. A source of delight for isolated people waiting for exciting packages from far flung family. And the mailbox deserves a decoration or two at Christmas time. #happychrissy by @gingingardenclub

11.01.2022 There’s a few things I’m obsessed with when it comes to https://www.facebook.com/longlunchlinen/ in Tamworth, NSW. 1. The business name. Long Lunch Linen. Perfect. 2. Her stunning hand painted tablecloths and napkins which she custom paints in your fav colours. Seriously. 3. The more reserved but all together irresistible (and I don’t use that word lightly) napkins and tablecloths in earthy/dusky tones (my words not hers ). 4. The use of the word ‘pizazz’ on her website. 5. The fact that we were both one-hand typing while breast-feeding to gather info for this post. 6. 06.01.2022 When are you in Sydney next?. We’ve been asked this a lot over the last twelve months. People wanting to touch base, circle back and reach out and all that stuff. It’s been lovely. But it was PARTICULARLY lovely when I got a call from PayPal to say that Paul Ryan, their CEO and some of the team wanted to come out to Warren and meet with bush businesses to find out more about their story. When you live in the bush you get used to travelling towards services. An hour h...ere, 8 hours there. All the important stuff happens elsewhere. But on this day, PayPal came to us.
