24.01.2022 We are hearing some heartbreaking stories from Melbourne’s hospitals - many staff are now ill, many are doing double shifts - it’s really, really stressful. We are also hearing that a helps to boost morale and does make a difference. We’d like to get to more hospitals more often but need to raise more money to do this. 09.01.2022 A Melbourne based nurse sent me a note, please take a second to read: Our work place got completely turned upside down maybe 6 or so weeks ago as numbers rose again and rapidly this time. We had our 32 bed ward full and ICU was at capacity. And our other wards were filling. We have had staff outbreaks and staffing is difficult as we are struggling to find staff everyday. Many staff are doing double shifts to help out. We were managing a second new ward so we had more isolati...on rooms up until we could no longer staff it as our numbers were diminishing.
