24.01.2022 The Red Centre by Robin Smith-text by Keith Willey -- Hardback with Dustjacket - Australian publisher Rigby, although printed in Hong Kong --1974 - 2nd edition-The 1st edition was published in 1967 - Some of the glossy full colour pictures are blurry nevertheless they still capture the beauty and uniqueness of this rugged part of Australia. There is much to look at and read about in this revised and enlarged edition. The old-timers recollections of the old days are mentioned through-out this book which gives an insight to the Northern Territory pioneering days. You will be captivated by the interesting historical plates such as that on Page 73 of Benjamin Landara who was one of the "Aranda School" painters and who grew up around Namatjira.

16.01.2022 For Sale on Gumtree is the Catherine Johns book "A Resiient Spirit' which is signed by the author who is one of South Australia's valued authors. This book is extremely rare to find so well worth the $45.00 price tag.

08.01.2022 My Australia by Hal Missingham, 1969 Aus. Collins publications has this picture of a grave site in Broome, the inscription says "Chester Fino, Aged 12 years, In Loving memory my dear son. Passed away 27th October 1956. Deep in our heart a memory is kept by mum, Brothers and sisters". Notable is the beer bottles around the grave site and the hand-made gravestone which in itself conjures up the idea of how much this boy was loved, missed and remembered by those who knew him.
