25.01.2022 The bees are loving the Pom Pom wattle (not it’s botanical or common name) on this sunny autumn morning

24.01.2022 First harvest from a hive in Yambuk that I have been managing. The honey super was tightly packed with honey so I took 4 frames and we are well on the way to 8.7kgs of golden goodness

23.01.2022 Hive inspection - after harvesting one of my flowhives on Jan 21 I was keen to see how my other flowhive was going as well my other newer hives, which have been very active since I installed them.

15.01.2022 Nice sunny day so I inspected the hives. All 6 have survived the winter and are looking good. Spring seems later here than other surrounding areas.

15.01.2022 Did a transfer from a well packed nuc, with lots of cross comb, into a brood box this morning. Got a lot of the comb with brood into frames held in by rubber bands. Looks a lot neater now, hopefully the bees will be happy with the extra space

15.01.2022 Special order today for some honey comb for a cheese platter at a local wedding - I just needed to pull one frame, so I knew exactly where to go...

14.01.2022 Meanwhile, back at the palace, the girls are busy stacking away provisions for winter

13.01.2022 Recovered a hive from a compost bin on Thursday. Quite well established and quite strong. Nice honey too ! Relocated as much brood as I could into my small hive (nuc) and went back after dark to collect the nuc and take them home. Everyone was inside after dark so plenty of bees inside to re- establish the hive at their new location.

13.01.2022 Employee of the Month - Beetrice B. Bee Fact - the average bee will only make 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in its lifetime
