25.01.2022 The Discovery Centre, Ubobo is the place to stay when preparing for your ride. The Centre is designed for exactly that purpose - a place to rest and recreate in comfort while discovering the beautiful Boyne Valley. You'll receive a friendly welcome. Enjoy beautifully clean facilites with hot showers and flushing toilets and plenty of open space where you can be as private or as social as you like. Come visit us soon.

24.01.2022 Great to welcome back return visitor Emma Bulmer. Rohan accompanied her this time. They cycled down highway 69 from Monto. What stamina. 11 hrs on the road on a very hot November day. Good to see you both and have a chat. Have a safe journey back to Bundaberg. Hope your plans fall into place without incident. They've ridden Bundy to Biggenden, Biggenden to Mundubbera, Mundubbera to Monto and Monto to Ubobo. It's on to Miriam Vale today via Blackman's Gap.

23.01.2022 We're away. Two years of planning comes together and the second pavilion is started. The need for this new facility was identified back in 2018. It will enhance visitor experiences while discovering the valley and be a great space for locals to gather for family outings with its associated firepit, BBQ, tables and lawned surrounds. Thank you to the Gambling Community Benefit Fund for the funding to allow this development to happen.#BeautifulBoyneValley.

17.01.2022 The newly elected 2020-21 Management Committee held their first committee meeting Monday afternoon welcoming three new faces to the group, Terry, Rhonda and Sharon and three returning members Margaret, Christine and Allan. They set about tidying up loose ends from the previous year and laying plans for the coming twelve months. All agreed the new pavilion, although only a concrete slab as yet, proved what a valuable asset it is going to be when Dunga Derby stopped over for the night. They set up their bar on the concrete and the 250 rally enthusiasts where able to sit back and relax on the oval while enjoying a roast dinner prepared in the kitchen by our great team of volunteers and friends.

11.01.2022 Another great week at the Discovery Centre, Ubobo. What a pleasure to see people doing their own thing- chatting, relaxing by the campfire, bird watching, cycling, walking the dog; to hear their reports of the joy of discovering and sharing what the valley has to offer from the lemons picked from the wild to make limoncello to the delight of seeing yellow robins, Lewin’s honeyeaters and a regent bowerbird while bush walking in the Bulburin National Park and how rewarding to receive praise for our facility, our volunteers and the enabling role we play in promoting, developing and preserving the environmental and historical heritage of the Boyne Valley. A farewell of We’ll be back, is music to the ears.

The derby is supporting QCWA, the LIONs and the Boyne Valley through the Boyne Valley Community Discovery Centre Inc. You may even get to enjoy an ice cream or waffle from Terry's ice cream van.
