23.01.2022 We have made the difficult decision to close temporarily. We will be reassessing the situation by Monday March 30th and will update our situation at that time. We will continue to check our messages and emails periodically. Please take care of yourselves and those around you.

21.01.2022 Recent claims in the media that kinesio tape can prevent injury such as runner’s knee should not be believed, cautions La Trobe University researcher and APA me...mber Dr Christian Barton. Dr Barton, who recently co-authored Clinical Practice Guidelines on runner’s knee, says there is no scientific evidence that these products work and warns consumers not to buy into the hype. Many people will read these sort of articles and think that by using the tape they are protecting themselves from injury, but the reality is it does nothing to address potential underlying issues like overtraining or inadequate conditioning. #MediaRelease #runnersknee #choosephysio

17.01.2022 #Mythbusting round two! Low Back Pain (LBP) is the number one cause of disability worldwide, often associated with expensive, sometimes ineffective or even harm...ful care. But why does this persist? According to new research from Peter O’Sullivan, JP Caneiro, Kieran O’Sullivan, Ivan Lin, Samantha Bunzli, Kevin Wernli and Mary O’Keeffe, unhelpful beliefs and pervasive myths though they are common and culturally endorsed are not backed by evidence and are associated with greater levels of reported pain, disability, work absenteeism, medication use and healthcare seeking. To begin to peel back some of the unhelpful beliefs outlined in the research, we’re launching another myth-busting exercise, this time focussed on LBP. Today, we’re busting the notion that scans will always show the cause of back pain. In fact, scans are only helpful for a small minority of people. While a lot of conditions can be reported with a scan bulging discs, protrusions, degeneration, arthritis and so on what can’t be seen is the reality that many of these conditions are also common in those without any pain at all. As such, they can’t predict your pain! For more information, you can find the research here: https://bjsm.bmj.com//early/2019/12/31/bjsports-2019-101611
