23.01.2022 Getting a big back the right way When it comes to the dumbbell row (or any rowing movement for that matter), many people tend to use their bicep more than their lat or actual back muscles Rowing is a funny one, you need to intentionally contract your back muscles in order to purposefully work them and actually strengthen them ... Good rowing technique would look something like this: Shoulders depressed Scapulas contracted Centre of mass is further down our body (avoiding the use of elbow flexion, thus limiting use of our bicep) This goes for all ‘rowing’ movements. Whether it’s a ring row, a pull up, or even a pendlay row, the position of your arms and hands always makes the difference

14.01.2022 THE WEIGHT BELT The weight belt - what is it? Why use it and when should I use it? All of these questions have permeated our brains in one format or another, and we’re here to answer them The weight belt is a tool we use to brace but what is bracing? ... Bracing is the act of engaging our deep abdominal muscles and creating intra-abdominal pressure with our breath in order to keep our spine nice and protected The BELT exists to ASSIST this entire process Once you are competent at bracing and heavy movements, THEN you should find yourself using the beltThis way it will decrease the effort required, allowing you to lift even heavier loads Just remember, if the belt is overused - it becomes a vice rather than a tool

12.01.2022 !!! ATTENTION !!! Lets address the current hunched over state of most people in society today. In day to day life, we spend ALOT of time hunched over a desk or a laptop. As a result most people tend to get INCREDIBLY tight through their thoracic spine and additionally shoulders. ... Here are 2 simple movements that should/ can be done daily to help open up in these regions. 1- Static hanging Perfect for spinal decompression as well as opening up / improving shoulder mobility. Do this for 45 - 60 sec for 2 sets 2- Thoracic openers Lay on your side, ensuring one leg is extended and the top knee is bent driven into the ground. Fully extend both arms along the ground. Open up one arm (like a book) Go for 6 rotations each side for 2 sets.

But there’s more to it than that! The most terrifying experience of your life - no, not the cycling part The part between finish your conditioning piece and getting off your bike If you’ve ever had the pain of having a pedal smack you in the leg after trying to rapidly dismount this thing, you know what I’m talking about ...
