23.01.2022 Congratulations to two of Dimity Lourey's tiniest students - 7yo Jai Jones was the successful rider of the EA Champion Leading Rein Show Hunter Pony of the Year, Arawal Lodge Matilda, at the recent ENSW Horse of the Year show. Jai's 6yo brother Macauley also looked fantastic on the beautiful borrowed grey, 'Patrick'. Well done to you both and to Dimity, who has brought them such a long way!!! Can't wait to see if Jai can pull off the national title too!!

21.01.2022 Byalee Magic II is a gorgeous boy, full brother to our higest-priced ever Byalee horse, Ann-Maree Lourey's Grand Prix champion Byalee Magic (Richmeed Medallion/Salute). "Raffy' sold for $17,000 as a 6yo at Auction of the Stars and later went on to enjoy a brilliant show career with Victorian showing star Jemima Draper. He recently been sold to Grade 3 para-rider Maddy Cooke whose mother says 'soo good, sooo exciting, he is an incredible horse, great temperament'! Raffy is a ...full brother to one of Byalee's matriarchal broodmares, Byalee Miracle, who is still producing astonishingly talented Byalee Briar (imp) babies year after year such as Byalee Breathless (sold AOS 2015 for $72k!). Miracle is due to foal later this year ... her 2019 foal has been retained to take over her stud duties in future years but the 2020 version will be offered for sale via payment plan. Pictured is Byalee Magic II with Ann-Maree Lourey in 2012, with Jemima Draper being sashed Supreme Exhibit in 2015, and with current owner Maddy Cooke. We wish Maddy and Raffy the best of luck!

20.01.2022 So excited to finally be back judging for the first time since COVID shut down our competitions in March. It could not be a more perfect day at Taree ... And might I add what a wonderful job the committee did, led by Helen Zimic. An amazing day out! ... For Byalee, a first, three seconds (one for each horse), a fourth and a fifth, topped by a win for Byalee Zorro on more than 70%! Well done DImity Lourey!

18.01.2022 So lovely to have our campees back again and while it wasn't quite warm enough for our traditional waterfights, it was a beautiful day and there were so many smiles that it was almost impossible to choose a winner for our competition! 6kg of hot chips later, no less than EIGHT pizzas and 16 litres of cordial kept the day rolling smoothly, as did the help of volunteers Viva, Bianca and Bayley. It all helps!!! We even managed to survive the Abby, Abbey, Avvy, Addy combination yet again, and the competitive A team, the pink team and more! By 5pm there was a trail of tired campees exiting down the drive ... see you all next week!

18.01.2022 Four weeks off, first ride back, and this Briar baby (who technically turns three tomorrow) didn't put a foot out of place. This is the kind of temperament that Byalee Briar throws to his youngsters and why his offspring can be ridden, campaigned and on occasion even broken in by non-professionals! Well done to Tammy and Byalee BamBam, what a great pony/warmblood cross he is!

You don't hide in the shelter, you curl up in the warm mud and make a cosy bed out of mum's hay ... the beautiful bay filly Byalee Saleste by Byalee Salao (imp) out of Byalee Regardez Du (Regardez Moi (imp)/Du (imp)). Saleste is therefore a warmblood x andalusian with completely imported bloodlines and is pictured here at one week old.

13.01.2022 A wild day at Hunter Valley Dressage Association on Sunday saw Byalee Wow Wie rw just beat the threatening storm to win the Grand Prix with Dimity Lourey while Byalee Aadonis nailed his first elementary start to place on 64%. Meanwhile students Tanisha on Byalee Wishes did some of their beat medium work to date to place in both tests and Renee took out both preps on Byalee Alexandra on 78% and 70% no less!! Wow! Renee and Humphrey also placed in the novice despite a better warm up than test, and Emma on Cupcake did her best prelims to date in her first attempt at official pony competition to place in both. Well done everyone!! Well worth getting rained on!

13.01.2022 Alexander Park's t-shirt day today was the perfect opportunity for Dimity Lourey to take out the youngsters for some experience ... debut outings for 3yo Byalee Brya and 3yo Byalee Bianca (owned by clients) and first novice start for 4yo Byalee Braveheart ... and and what a credit to Byalee they all were! Dimity did a great job and with a wonderful draw (thanks APDC) had plenty of time to relax and ensure that all three had a lovely experience despite the occasional shower. ...And the results? Baby Bianca won by as much as 5% in the prep tests (though sorry no ribbons for the owner since Dimity had to ride HC) on 75% and 73.95% ... Baby Brya placed 5th and 6th (straight to prelim for him!) on 69.64% and 66.6% ... Brya is a full brother to our amazing Byalee Breathless, sold at AOS for more than $72,000!! A full sibling is due to hit the ground before Christmas and will be for sale (Byalee Briar (imp)/Richmeed Medallion (imp))! And the incredibly uphill Braveheart was 1st and 2nd in his first novices for 69.64% and 66.76%. Braveheart (Byalee Briar (imp)/Regardes Moi (imp)/Jive Magic (imp)) is currently for sale for $33,000 including gst - his career is off to a great start! Their performances show just how beautiful the Briar temperaments are, and how trainable the Briar babies can be, with Bianca and Brya broken in just this year, while Braveheart shows what a difference an extra year's training makes to the physique of the young dressage horse. Sire Byalee Briar (imp) is standing at stud this season at $1100, live cover only - so easy to breed one of your own!!!

13.01.2022 Two of our most enthusiastic junior students received their trophies at Maitland Pony Club end-of-year awards today. Isabelle and Emma, both taught by Dimity Lourey, were rewarded for their work at State showjumping and State dressage. We’re so proud of you two!

13.01.2022 So excited to have the beautiful Byalee Eldorado (IMP) at home under saddle! What a lot he has been through in the past three months .. road trip from Spain to Frankfurt, quarantine, flight to Australia, quarantine, road trip from Melbourne to Byalee, a few days to breathe and a float trip to Denman to learn about riding, not to mention polocrosse, cattle, dogs and riding out in the Aussie bush!! We can't recommend Adam Wrobel highly enough nor thank him enough for the amazin...g job he has done in moulding this colt into a superb riding horse. It must be about the 50th horse he has done for us in the past 10 years and his work never fails to impress. Sooooo looking forward to the future on this gorgeous boy! 12.01.2022 We thought we had used all our luck with the weather gods but as surrounding areas suffered gales, thunderstorms, hail storms, and 40mm of rain, we survived with just one short shower and a bit of a breeze after lunch! Not that it mattered - after all, we have a roof and after all, kids don't care! With a myriad of Abbys and Avvys and Addys, yet again, we managed to make it through the day quite happily even if it WAS a bit too wild and woolly for decent photos! Enjoy the portrait shots and we will see you all again in the spring!

11.01.2022 This is the moment ... that Byalee Eldorado arrived! To say this horse has presence would be an absolute understatement ... the doors of the truck opened and he stood like a golden statue, surveying his new kingdom!! Guess it didn’t look anything like Spain!!! Thank you to Fantastic PRE Horses for finding him for us and to IRT for keeping him safe and happy and well and to Sydney Horse Transport for the final leg ... it’s been a year and four months since the plan was first hatched and finally, he is here. Welcome to Byalee, ‘Goldie’! We can’t wait to see what the future holds and what foals you will sire for us!

11.01.2022 Another beautiful baby by Byalee Salao IX (imp) - a colt named San Miguel out of BZ Flick (by Grand Prix stallion Fiji R (imp) out of a mare by Grand Prix stallion Regardez Moi (also imp!)). Congratulations to Kellie and Kevin on their new arrival!

11.01.2022 This lovely long-legged creature is a most beautiful filly by Byalee Salao (imp). Byalee Soliloquy is out of Minx, by imported Fresian stallion Noble Valiant out of a Richmeed Medallion (imp) mare. Richmeed Medallion was a Grand Prix warmblood stallion with Ann-Maree Lourey. Lilly’s unique blend of genetics has created what is technically a warlander/warmblood cross, with a thick curly coat, a magnificent mane and tail and white markings courtesy of Medallion. In the words of our 4yo expert: ‘She’s just adorable!’

10.01.2022 Our gorgeous litte Byalee Burberry went off to his new home this week after weaning ... able to be led, tied up, rugged, have his feet picked up and be lightly lunged in walk and trot ... he walked bravely up the truck ramp and off to his show career. Burberry - alias 'Berry' - is a full brother to Byalee Beautiful (Byalee Briar (imp)/Richmeed Medallion (imp)) who was sold under saddle last year for $45,000. Berry's dam, Byalee Magnolia, is from a great family boasting siblings Byalee Millions and Byalee Mist, both hugely successful in the show ring as well as Berry's own full sister Buffy. Congratulations to Berry's new owner who very astutely spotted his potential - we wish them every success in the future!

09.01.2022 Another beautiful baby by Byalee Wow Wie rw - a chestnut filly born in Queensland to the lovely Fairbanks Rusty (Rotspon/Jazz) mare, Regrette! The mare was a beautiful ride as was her brother Byalee Riches, so this should be a beautiful dressage horse with her sire’s trademark bling.

09.01.2022 It was an amazing comeback to dressage for the Team Byalee at Singleton Dressage Club at the weekend. So many students had improved so much during their time at home and there were so many changes! Renee and her new baby ‘Tilly’, Byalee Alexandra, bought back in February, finally got her first start and was picture-perfect, scoring more than 73% and 75% to place second in both her preps. 09.01.2022 Byalee Warlock (by Grand Prix champion stallion Byalee Wow Wie rw) is another of the Byalee babies doing well after being taken on by a talented amateur owner rider. 'Lochie' was sold in 2017 after being under saddle for just a few months - he was sold before he made it to our Auction of the Stars sale, which is where the babies are most often showcased! Lochie is out of the very talented Byalee Beautiful (Byalee Briar/Richmeed Medallion), sold last year for $45,000 at medium... level, and is the younger brother of Byalee Wizard, exported to New Zealand as a para horse. Ironically, Lochie is also off to New Zealand at the end of the year and will be living close to his bro! It's a small world ... Byalee Warlock is pictured as a rising 3yo with Dimity Lourey in 2017 and as a stunning young horse at the NSW State Championships two years later with Sarah Holmes. Lochie is now scoring over 70% and Sarah is loving him in the Yuong Horse classes. If you are looking for a straightforward youngster brought up correctly, do get in touch. We have horses growing up with us every year!

Surprise!! Young Riders here you come!! Could anyone look more amazed and happy?! It was impossible to wipe the grin off her face after an incredibly successful first ride - only great things to come!!

07.01.2022 It's great to hear news of our Byalee babies as they move on in life ... here is Byalee Wie Win (by Byalee Wow Wie rw) who was sold more than two years ago at Auction of the Stars December 2017. He is out of Byalee Butterfly, a beautiful Byalee Briar mare who just happens to be a half-sister to Grand Prix champion Byalee Magic. So grown up two years on from his sale, and performing so successfully with professional Sue Walker in the saddle recording scores of over 75%!!! 'Eccles' is pictured as a baby in October 2017 for the AOS catalogue and again in May 2020! It is so lovely to see our youngsters brought along so beautifully ...

07.01.2022 Our last school holiday camp for the year - next ones kick off after Christmas on January 5, 12, and 19. Meanwhile, there was plenty of fun to be had, especially with the new icing sugar lolly game!!! Thanks to all those whole helped us to make the day fun, complete with 6kg of hot chips, four dozen sausages and untold numbers of lollies and chips and drinks and super doopers!!! ... There were running races and high jumps and good old-fashioned fun and hopefully lots of memories were made! See you next year!

06.01.2022 TEASER: Congratulations to Dimity Lourey and her own Byalee Aadonis, scoring 67.5% and 65.3% to place 3rd in both official preliminary tests at Singleton Dressage Club today, beaten only by fellow professionals! And congratulations to Byalee's next-gen little rider, Dimity's daughter Kara, placing 4th on 67.9% in her first junior prep test on our gorgeous Byale Baby, better known as Dusty!!! Who could believe he could be so clean ... And congratulations to working pupil Samara, who had her first proper dressage outing on client horse Byalee Johnny Cash, placing 3rd and 5th at prep with more than 64%. Byalee had 36 tests from a total of 300 at the club on the day ... full details and photo album to follow this week.

05.01.2022 So excited to see our beautiful Byalee Braveheart out placing at Dressage NSW last week on more than 71%! Braveheart was sold a couple of months ago and this was his first outing under new management. He lived up to his previous performances with Dimity Lourey and looked sensational - it’s so satisfying when you create wonderful horses and they grow up and move on and do what they do so well! Can’t wait to see more of Braveheart as he progresses up the ranks - congratulations to new owner Julie and her coach (rider) Celeste! 05.01.2022 HOLIDAY CAMPS Thanks to the easing of covid restrictions, our school holiday camps return during the upcoming holidays on Tuesday, July 7 and Tuesday, July 14. All campees booked in for the April holidays are automatically carried forward to the same week (Week 1 or Week 2) of the July holidays. ... Can those who were booked in to April please confirm your attendance with us this time round? Limited spaces still available both weeks as we stopped taking bookings when covid hit during Term 1. 02.01.2022 Introducing a new school horse to the world of Byalee Stables ... ... this beautiful girl, Hayborn Sara, is a 15yo 15.3hh WB/TB cross by the amazing Dutch sire Salieri. Salieri is the sire of Anky van Grunsven's spectacular world champion Grand Prix superstar, Salinero. This means that when you ride her on the bit and have her soft and over the back, you are able to sit an amazing floating trot that is shared by a world champion!!! In her past lives, Sara wa...s a broodmare and prior to that, a fun eventer for teenagers with prominent eventing family, the Coopers. After being with us since last September, she is now an official part of the school. Sara is a no-spook creature who is yet to look at anything and is same under saddle, rain, hail or shine! We hope she is with her for a long time to come! (Thanks to long-term student Helen for riding Sara in her maiden photo shoot today!)

02.01.2022 Our beautiful old Dusty is now officially a ‘one in a million’ pony in Horse Deals! We are so so lucky to have this very special man in our equestrian lives!

02.01.2022 It was so lovely to be allowed to run our school holiday camps again after missing out at Easter for the first time in more than 10 years! Everyone who arrived for our first week camp was liberally showered in hand sanitiser and all protocols were observed! A perfect winter's day ... thanks to all of our volunteers who kept everyone ticking over. ... Apologies for anyone who missed out on a photo, it's hard to be in four places at once and hopefully we will catch up with you next week!
