21.01.2022 HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE HOME BUILDER GRANT? You may be eligible for a $25,000 grant from the Federal Government to build or renovate your home! In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the Government is looking to boost the construction sector. Dubbed the HomeBuilder scheme; The $688 million stimulus package aims to slow economic downturn and save jobs.... But what does this mean for you? Now may be the time to get started on the new build or renovation project you have been thinking about. KEY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Owner-occupiers are eligible, but not owner builders Means-tested o Couples with a joint income exceeding $200,000 per annum will be excluded o Individuals with an income exceeding $125,000 per annum will be excluded Minimum spend of $150,000 - $750,000 o For renovations, the property value must not exceed $1.5 million Investment properties are not eligible ‘Separate structures’ such as swimming pools, sheds and tennis courts will not be eligible Builders involved must be registered/licensed Applications are now open but will close at the end of the year.
