24.01.2022 Fraudster behind bars: Today a Queensland man was sentenced to jail for stealing the identities and tax refunds of 52 people. The 27-year-old set up an elabor...ate online employment scam, offering fake jobs to people after conducting seemingly legitimate phone interviews. He convinced successful applicants to provide their tax file numbers (TFNs), bank account details and drivers licences, which he then used to get his hands on their tax refunds. Scams come in various forms, so remember to be cautious and protect your personal info. You should only provide your TFN to a new employer after youve started work using an official TFN declaration form. On Monday Matthew p...resented a cheque to the Rotary Club of Byford & Districts for $200 at their NRG meeting. Matt's a member of the Rotary Club of Swan Districts and when he first owned the store he didn't know anyone or of the area. As a Rotarian he searched the internet for a local Rotary club and attended a Club meeting to get to know people within the area... and the rest is history! Rotary is a fantastic way to network but also to get involved in fantastic community work and projects. If youd like to be a part of a organisation like Rotary please send them a message on their page.
