08.01.2022 Wow what a weekend! Milbrodale mountain classic started off very well, we set a good qualifying time and ended up first in class. Race 1 medium course 6 x 11km laps, we were coming down the mountain got a bit excited and came in way to hot! Launched off a water bar 35 feet down the hill the land on the front right corner and destroyed a rim then went on to roll off the track and down the hill only land back on our wheels! The car was still running and the gauges were all ok ...so we gave driving the car a go, straight away we knew it had some battle scars. We got out changed the tyre and off we went and continued all our laps In the race. Once we finished we really had to check the car over. - B pillar now has a flattened tube - front axle seals leaking - every panel on the car destroyed - and a leaking power steering reservoir Super impressed that the car was in one piece (-1 rim) let alone finish the rest of the weekend! What we did to it was just BRUTAL!!! The new KDR2 from Ben Napier BNMotorsports survived crash and was salvaged even tho the rim was in 9 pieces. These tyres and legit and the grip levels are the best I’ve driven this car on. Day 2 We are up and running and after the roll over we only ended up 4 mins off the lead. After race 2 we were back on top. Race 3 we extended a lead and race 4 we completed all 6 x 26km long course laps and went on to finish 1st in class and 14th outright out of a 65 car field. Massive thanks to David Horne Boof Penfold Matt Dunk Ben Napier Trish Farris without these guys the car would have gone back on the trailer and not raced. Truly awesome to have a good bunch of people to help out! Thank you so much to all that helped! Progression photos of car from the weekend.
