06.01.2022 Presenting our third local artist to our second birthday Art Exhibition... Mim Gutsche - Mim Gutsche Art We welcome back legend Mim to come back to Arteq a year... after she presented us with her beautiful poured paint and glazed canvas. Read a bit more about her journey below. "I discovered drawing at a young age - I actually can’t pinpoint when it sparked but I’ve always involved my own creativity into most things I do. My experience growing up with my hand initially played a huge part in my artistic path and how I found myself chasing a creative outlet." Mim's art has changed since her time in school where she learnt to create detailed, dreamlike illustrations. "My art books were filled with illusory portraits with elongated bodies, lots of horses and continuous attempts to self portrait in charcoal, ink & pencil." She feels she has shaped herself as an artist when moving to Melbourne from South Australia in 2014. "Expanding my horizon; moving to a new place, getting inspired by new feelings, coincidences, interesting people and good books - which is also when I found more interest in different artistic practices which has allowed me to express my energy in other ways. I’ve moved more towards painting, acrylics, pouring & glazing over the last year. I would describe my art right now as unpredictable/spontaneous, sometimes strange, radiant and lively." Mim will be showcasing three paintings including the very piece she created on the fly at our birthday last year. "Each piece contains a part of myself combined with my love for art, representations of weird and wonderful things that make me go YAY, made out of eccentric coloured acrylics and glazes. Enjoy.
