22.01.2022 One of the best things you can do for your mental health is to MEDITATE the ultimate goal of yoga (before enlightenment, but that’s another story!). But if the idea of sitting in an uncomfortable position while fighting the thoughts of what’s next on your to-do list does not sound very relaxing, let me introduce you the technique I’ve been incorporating in my own personal practice. YOGA NIDRA (also known as Yogic Sleep) promotes DEEP REST AND RELAXATION that isn’t found ...in your average meditation practice, and has been used by many (including people with PTSD, anxiety and depression) to calm the nervous system and support a life with less stress and better health. 01.01.2022 S T O R Y O F M Y L I F E I’m not very comfortable with swearing (or talking about my mental illness) but just couldn’t get past this one! May is MENTAL HEALTH MONTH and being someone who has lived with an Anxiety Disorder myself, I know how important it is to balance the CARE we have for our body with the care we have FOR OUR MIND. ... And I’ve been blessed to have YOGA as a healing tool for myself and to help others, so I do hope one day I can get past the shame and the fear and start sharing more of my story with you all. ‘Anxiety, depression, panic, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, PTSD, addiction disorders, eating disorders, and every other type and expression of mental illness they don’t care who you are. They don’t care how spiritual you are, where you come from, what you look like. If you’re suffering with one or more of these conditions, it doesn’t mean you’re broken or inferior or weak. In fact, living with these conditions requires extraordinary strength. Recovery, however it looks for you, however messy it may be, is something to be deeply proud of. It can be really hard to reach out and advocate for yourself, especially if you suffer from one of the more stigmatized and debilitating disorders. But you are worth it.
