17.01.2022 This week Wed yin flow will focus on the spleen & stomach meridans Sat hatha & vinyasa class will focus on releasing limiting beliefs, increasing confidence & living your dreams... The Poses in yin will be held up to 5 mins & these long holds access deep layers of fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and separates them from other organs. Often overlooked, this connective tissue accounts for almost 50% of the body’s resistance to flexibility, while muscles account for about 40%. The Spleen Meridian: Don’t Worry, Be Happy. Yin Yoga is influenced by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), which holds thatwhen thechiof these two meridians is not in balance, bloating, flatulence, and other digestive problems may arise. Spleen is the EARTH ELEMENT & TCM holds that if spleen chi is weak, worry might be a problem, while if it is strong, creativity is the reward. Spleen chi is also connected with intention, willpower, and awareness of possibilities for change. Immediate benefits include open hips, a calm body and a centered mind. During a yin class, the student is asked to relax into a pose and stay with it. Sitting with feelings and sensations for long periods of time can be challenging for anyone. This exact stillness can bring an intimate connection to yourself your body and your organs. Some of the poses will gently massage the digestive organs, which may alleviate gas and improve digestion. Other poses are intended to strengthen the spleen and stomachchi(vital energy). One of the most common TCM patterns of imbalance seen in the West is called Spleen Qi Deficiency. This pattern can arise from various reasons including poor diet, irregular eating patterns and stress. Spleen Qi Deficiency involves symptoms such as poor appetite, bloating (especially after eating), weakness of the arms and legs, fatigue and loose stool. IT expresses - to be with whatever life brings to us and no matter if its joy or some other form perhaps discomfort . Rumi welcomes and encourages us to open ourselves to whatever life brings us - internally or externally. No matter what life brings we choose our attitude and how we show up , can we greet it with humour fear and faith which allows ompassionation and wisdom to follow to ourselves a...nd others.
