Due to the intensity of the blaze the iconic Figtree Restaurant could not be saved. The owner and operator Che Devlin must be praised for immediately evacuating guests from The Dairy, only 25 metr...es from the fire. The Figtree is a Byron Bay institution and one of Australia’s premier wedding locations. There were no casualties or injuries. The cause of the blaze is currently under investigation.
