24.01.2022 A bit of a panic this afternoon!!! This little guy which we are calling Ragnarok and nickname Thor, was down and out this afternoon. I've not been able to get any cydectin on him as he is a real lively one. So I had to sneak up on him this morning around a tree and pour a little on which could have been more than the 5ml. I freaked out that I'd poisoned him this afternoon as he wouldn't move and I rolled him back and forth checking for ticks aswell. His eyes were a little bloodshot aswell so a call to the vet. I carried him up the hill put him in the car so mum would follow to keep them in the house yard for observation. As soon as I got him to stand he seemed fine but still a little lethargic..... fingers crossed for the morning.
24.01.2022 A ripper little boy landed last night.
24.01.2022 I think Marbles (right black) at around a couple of months old has just out grown Prince Cedrick (middle black) our smallest bull bred here.
23.01.2022 Prince Cedrick at the ready!!! Our smallest is getting his chance as the stud bull with some of the girls, as you can see he's not much bigger than the girls when they are sitting on the ground.
23.01.2022 Second little surprise packet. A little white with black points heifer doing well. I think we might have another 2 to come thanks to that bull that decide to risk it for the biscuit when the fence was down.
22.01.2022 Nirvana is always ready to lend a helping hand! Clearing out weeds and small trees, but I think she thought it sounded more like hay was coming.
20.01.2022 Getting to know the newest calf on the block. Unfortunately this one and one more to come have crossed our creek and are in a neighbour's yard! (Mum's have crossed prior to giving birth) I try to do this when ever possible so they get to know my scent which helps later on if I want to train them.
19.01.2022 A day of working with the piglets.
18.01.2022 Young Ruby is about 3 months old now. She has the best fringe..... but not today!!!
16.01.2022 This is Thor who I was a little worried about... I think he might just be a sleeper!
12.01.2022 A couple of calves. Don't you love when they get to this point where the black coat gets that red tinge but the nose and eyes are still black.
12.01.2022 Marbles is fast asleep and snoring away. He is our cross breed.
11.01.2022 Ruby and Ragnarok. Ruby on the left sure has a great fringe
10.01.2022 How can you not love a face like this? We have a start up herd that was going to be bought, but feel through. If you're looking for half a dozen cows and a bull contact us here or via our website.
09.01.2022 Purebred Berkshiire pig wieners for sale, 3 months old, 6 females and 4 desexed males. Will consider selling stud boar and 2 sows together to the right set up. Pm for details.
08.01.2022 Lucy getting her DNA refresher, 13 piglets in the house yard to be rounded up. Time sell the piglets!!!!
07.01.2022 We have about 6-7 cows that have become available for sale. Great bloodlines with imported semen used for sires or grand sires. Contact us via the website or private message here.
07.01.2022 Vaccination, drenching and steering time. Little Ragnarok "Thor" is soon to be a little less Thor as soon as I can get all the herd together and into the yards.
06.01.2022 A new bub this morning. Sort of a surprise.... through the drought the braided line fencing cattle often broke. I was told by the supplier that when he looked into it the UV stabilisers where to meet conditions in New Zealand!!!! Anyway on 2 occasions I found a bull where he couldn't be, so a couple of calves are on their way. This guy is actually a cross between a F1 Wagyu and a Galloway. What do you think we should call the breed? Wagalloway, wagalway, Gallayu, Gallawu, Fregalwu??????
02.01.2022 The two new kids on the block. I think someone might have forgot she's now a mum.
02.01.2022 Mum and son(Thor) looking on as we get 10 girls ready for their big trip north to their new home tomorrow.
01.01.2022 You should see how long the eye lashes are... maybe next time I'll get a good shot of then? I've just poured on a cap full of Cydectin, which is something I do in the first 2-3 days for protection against paralysis ticks. In my first couple of seasons I lost a couple of calves and saved another 2 from a single paralysis tick. Once I started doing this I've never lost one.
