The ceremony was ...amazing with people from all over the world coming together for the 3 day surfing/cultural event in Fingal Head. 11.01.2022 BYRON LOOKOUT INSPECTIONS DOUBLED AFTER TODDLER'S CLOSE CALL WITH CLIFF The National Parks and Wildlife Service says repairs have been made to Fishermans ...Lookout at The Pass in Byron Bay. On Sunday a toddler broke through a wooden railing and was saved from falling over the cliff by a bystander. Area manager Sue Walker says the lookout was immediatey closed until repairs could be made. She says work is expected to start this year to replace the entire structure, but it is now safe. "The lookout has engineering inspections which recommend they have 12-monthly inspections," Ms Walker said. "We do inspections every month to three months. We've now increased those inspections to every fortnight."
