21.01.2022 Earlier today, I received an email from a high school student who is a fan and who is facing the daunting reality of having to take an insane social justice cla...ss. This is why I engage the public in the myriad of ways that I do. Professors should not solely be reaching out to fellow academics in the highfalutin ivory tower. In this existential battle of ideas, it is important to reach the younger folks as they will serve as our leaders one day (think about my own pathogenic prime minister). Hence, I suggest that professors quit with their high-brow "engagement" and learn how to speak to the masses. You change minds by using a multiplicity of persuasion strategies. I can be very formal and academically fancy, and I can brawl in the metaphorical wrestling pit. All strategies are on the table when engaging the public. See more

13.01.2022 Not even taking into account the food people don't finish and thoughtlessly throw out at the end of their meal, seems like the amount of edible food that is wasted is ridiculous. It's pretty sad how inefficient modern food supply systems are. Need to see what stats are available. Seems like a huge waste of energy and resources, and a massive environmental burden.
