21.01.2022 #TBT Since it's inception, BYSA has used creative mediums to engage with young people. Music, Art, Film, Drama and Poetry have been weaved into the fabric of BYSA. What creative project were you a part of?



21.01.2022 Annual celebration for National Youth Week. The Burbs is an event delivered by young people for young people.

20.01.2022 || Youth Volunteer Program || A key element of the Burbs Festival is the volunteer program. Youth participation goes beyond being a passive attendee at a community program/event. Real youth participation is about empowerment, purposeful engagement and inclusiveness. The volunteer program is a platform to engage young people to assist with the design, development and delivery of The Burbs Festival.

20.01.2022 THE BURBS FESTIVAL || The Burbs Festival is Blacktown's celebration for National Youth Week. In 2007, a group of youth workers across Western Sydney joined forces to deliver a Western Sydney Youth Week Event. The event was held at Blacktown Showground attracting over 800 people with two live music stages, rides, sports, food and information stalls. The festival has continued each year with BYSA being a lead agency. Were you part of a Burbs Festival?

11.01.2022 Blacktown's Annual National Youth Week Event. Delivered by young people for young people.

11.01.2022 This week is National Neighbourhood Centre Week, a celebration of the role of neighbourhood centres in local communities. BYSA was established in 1988, an era where grassroots organisations were established as a way to solve social issues at a local level. Were you involved in BYSA during it's inception? 11.01.2022 #TBT "Unexpected" was one of BYSA's first music video productions. BYSA engaged a group of young people to write, record, direct, film, act and produce in a video that aims to start discussion around safer sex. BYSA productions are one of the ways BYSA uses creative media to raise awareness about an issue relevant to young people. Did you have a part in this video?
