25.01.2022 More details have been coming out about Intels first GPU in a long time. Called the Intel XE at the moment. From the initial information, it doesnt look that impressive for a gaming GPU, seemingly based on their CPU Integrated Graphics. However they are claiming a 200% improvement on that. What do you think of it?

25.01.2022 VR headset usage continues to grow, even though it is still a very limited uptake. Ive got a first gen Vive myself, and the things I enjoy most on it atta arcade style games. Have you tried VR?

24.01.2022 What are some of the sillier error messages youve seen? I couldnt believe when I can across one in Autocad that just said "dunno"

23.01.2022 This CPU is insane. Huge performance for the (large amount) of money. I doubt Ill ever see one in person, but it is good to see where things will finally go. That do you think about this?

20.01.2022 Show me your memes!

20.01.2022 Does this count as Valve counting to 3? Portal, Portal 2 Half Life, Half Life 2, now Half Life VR??... Im keen to see how a (likely) story driven game goes on the Vive.

20.01.2022 Whos picked up Jedi Fallen Order? As a massive Star Wars fan Ive been really enjoying it, even though I suck so immensely at the combat system, Im sure I will get 100 hours out of the story because of it!

20.01.2022 So of all the things to gate off behind a paywall, I never thought a death counter would be one of them!

19.01.2022 I always figured that google maps used peoples phones to generate the traffic data. I do like that someone gave it a try to see how it works.

19.01.2022 Do you love your sound? I'm not much of one myself, but I would love to hear your recommendations below for high quality audio gear for computers.

19.01.2022 CD Projekt Red has delayed Cyberpunk 2077 to ensure that it can release a polished game. And, predictably, certain parts of the internet went nuts. I think this is actually a great move. Rather than have some buggy POS on launch day, lets wait a few months and get something that wont be a disaster!

18.01.2022 Grabbed Mech Warrior 5 Mercenaries over the weekend. Jumping in to Reactor online, sensors online, weapons online, all systems nominal took me straight back to my Mech Warrior 3 days. What game imagery or sounds give you that nostalgic feeling?

17.01.2022 A reminder to clean your system! Blocked dust filters can reduce airflow and increase temperatures. Just a simple brush and vacuum will safely clean any filters. Dont forget the power supply filter too!

17.01.2022 Somewhat underwhelmed by this release. But I guess as the old line rotate out this will make more sense. What are your thoughts on this release?

15.01.2022 Flash back Friday, maths is hard

15.01.2022 I remember many an hour playing NFS Underground 2. To me, it was the last game before they completely went off the deep end with the series. I never really got into the whole tuning exotics, that just doesnt make sense to me

14.01.2022 This is totally my use for my second monitor. Seems massive overkill to me! If you have a second monitor, what do you use it for? Photo from PC Master Race

14.01.2022 Red Dead Redemption 2 has had a shocking transition to the PC. It has had countless issues with the game causing blue screens of death, kicking users back to the desktop, and awful performance in game. Did any of you get it? And if so, did your have any of these issues.

12.01.2022 Did you know that you can use your PC to help fight Covid19 (corona virus) Folding at Home has work that needs doing too fight corona virus. So go ahead and download it to donate your spare compute power to help! Please share and tell your friends, you dont need a monstrous computer to contribute.

12.01.2022 Other than being half the price, not a whole lot spec wise has changed between these generations

10.01.2022 If youre running Avast you should be aware that the side loaded Jumpshot software is selling your data. The relationship is going to be wound up, but you should probably get rid of Jumpshot anyway. My view is that with sensible browsing habits, and Windows own anti virus, you will be adequately protected.

10.01.2022 Not sure why that is relevant? Whilst I appreciate the lower temps, I do it for the aesthetics

10.01.2022 Flash back Friday; I have not actually dipped my toes into overclocking my Ryzen system. Primarily as they run so close to the limit from the factory you can only generally get 1-200MHz out of them.

09.01.2022 Whenever I play a console I feel this so hard. Do you use a controller on PC, and if so, what games do you play with it?

09.01.2022 "But can it run Crysis?" The new AMD Threadripper CPU can run Crysis using software rendering! That is staggering progress for CPUs

09.01.2022 How much thermal paste is too much thermal paste? There is a lot of conjecture around it, but from the testing that I have seen, it appears to make little difference with any reasonable amount. Though this is too much thermal paste

09.01.2022 With DOOM eternal due in a month, Im sure Bethesda is working day and night to get this perfect balance.

09.01.2022 Do you love your sound? Im not much of one myself, but I would love to hear your recommendations below for high quality audio gear for computers.

07.01.2022 What game will get you caught? For me it is League of Legends. Just one more game

06.01.2022 So how do you boot Windows 10 into safe mode? There are 2 really simple ways. If windows seems to be working well enough, hold shift when clicking restart in the start menu. If you have something that prevents you doing that (gpu overclock way too high is one thing) just interrupt the boot process 3 times (turn off or reset) and it will give you the option on the 4th boot

06.01.2022 Intel and AMD have both released new CPUs in the last day, with the Intel 10980XE and the AMD 3970X. Both are ludicrously high end parts aimed at professional work loads. Intel pulled a swifty launching theirs a day earlier than AMD, thus preventing launch coverage having direct comparisons to the new AMD offering. Which brand do you think is winning at the moment?

05.01.2022 NZXT have released a new small form factor case. At 13.5l capacity, the very clever design allows for full size graphics cards whilst it also comes with a bespoke water cooler and preinstalled power supply with suitable cables. This is a very small footprint on your desk. I really like it!

05.01.2022 After been away for a week, the first thing I did when I got back was installed my new cables. Highly recommend Ensourced, their cables are amazing

04.01.2022 Windows 7 is now end of life, with Microsoft ending support for it. What this means is no more security updates which could leave you vulnerable. Are any of you still running Windows 7?

04.01.2022 Solid effort! How much data do you use in a month? Im around 300gb myself, so not a huge user really

01.01.2022 So you can now order the Mac Pro. Starting at $10,000aud, you can spec it up to over $80k! This is purely aimed at professionals to be certain, but Im staggered by how much the base price is.

01.01.2022 Google Stadia has been released in 14 countries, but not yet Australia. Reviews have been a bit mixed, with issues in activating the service. The speed requirements are not extreme, but in Australia 4k may not be always possible. What are your impressions on it so far from what youve seen?
