Jan and Stephen Johnson are still working clydesdale and Australian draught horses ...at their stud in Lake Cargelligo, NSW. They regularly welcome visitors to demonstrate bygone methods of farming and transport. In October 2015 they took 10 horses to the annual Barellan Working Clydesdales "The Good Old Days" Weekend. In previous years they've made the trip by cart - which takes over 5 days - but this time they decided to transport the horses by truck, cutting the journey to 2 hours. Just goes to show how things have advanced. The horses also made an appearance in the latest instalment of the West Wyalong Movies documentary series. An evacuation warning was issued for Willow Bend miss...ion at the the weekend and has now been upgraded to an order affecting about 20 properties. The Lachlan River is peaking at about 7.13m at Condobolin. SES spokesman Shaun Farmer says while there’s no risk of inundation at Willow Bend there’s a high likelihood of the homes being isolated by floodwaters.
