24.01.2022 Cracking first stand tonight....
23.01.2022 A bit of thermal fox shooting. Rain, rain and more rain has me sitting on the PC trying to learn some new software...
23.01.2022 Those moody sunsets...
23.01.2022 Obviously its a much nicer view through the unit itself, but this is my 8 gong heated for 1 minute at 150m. Easy
23.01.2022 Mr Jason Brooks getting it done https://www.facebook.com/100006483951930/posts/3338039959755436/?extid=KvZC2KpuiFJgsUD8&d=n
22.01.2022 Spring. Over the coming months we will see fox numbers increase, movements increase and the predation of native fauna increase as both vixens and dogs hunt voraciously to feed kits through the weaning period. Following this, the young will hunt in tow of the vixen. At this time we can see a huge amount of excess killing, particularly visible for late spring lambing but also a huge problem for native fauna. Well see dens littered with the half consumed remains of some gorgeous wildlife. Birds, small to medium reptiles and small to medium native mammals. Macropods, marsupials etc. are all susceptible to predation and excess killing. Its also the start of the fox coming back on to the call with a vengeance. They are young, dumb and easily manipulated. Get out there, do your bit for our environment and put a dent in your local population
22.01.2022 My MS-42 next to the little MS-19 Ive been testing. Theres a big difference between these two units, but at half the price the little 19 makes a solid entry for the budget conscious... . #thermal #thermalhunting #nighthunting #turnthelightsoff #doitinthedark
21.01.2022 Today, I taught myself how to build custom USB-C connections in an effort to improve footage quality. Its unreal where simply creating content will lead to
17.01.2022 Suns out after what seems an eternity!
16.01.2022 The MS-19. An entry level thermal optic. Heres my initial thoughts while testing it prior to release. After mounting the unit on my 223, I set about getting it zeroed. In typical fashion, it was a no fuss affair at 54m giving me a 185m zero. The foil target was crisp and after 7 rounds I was dialled in. It was midday and I decided to check my 100m impact, if I could, on my 4 gong. I was excited to find I was able to effectively make out the little gong on the units 2.5x bas...Continue reading
15.01.2022 If you could own one our laws wont allow, what would it be? Im a bit boring, but this is it. A suppressed bolt action SBR in 300 with a folding stock and a clip on thermal. Why? Firstly, its cool AF. Secondly, its cool AF. Unfortunately, itll only ever be a pipe dream
15.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day gents. If yours is still with you, dont take it for granted
14.01.2022 Rolling through my PC and switching content out to my new one, finding plenty of older stuff Id forgotten about. Lots has changed, but that is still my favourite little light
13.01.2022 Okay. Ive ordered some gear from these guys and am getting excited. Im moving to a helmet mounted setup for my thermal spotting and will have a kit able to quickly change between several options in terms of the actual unit I use. Theres a bit of lead time in getting it all here but I cant wait to go hands free! https://www.facebook.com//a.74684380570/1162038377516368/
13.01.2022 Done. Took a little hit for weight on the Magpul PRS stock but its still a comfy rig to carry. All told, 5.1kg with an empty mag
13.01.2022 Running atlas pattern feet on your Magpul bipod? Ive identified a minor long term issue and run through a super easy fix
11.01.2022 Tried something different for zeroing the thermal today and it worked a treat
11.01.2022 Bits have started to roll in for the helmet mounted thermal setup. Im quickly learning that Australia is running about 600 years behind the times and this shit is really hard to source
10.01.2022 Aussie ingenuity at its best!! Adrian Mclean has built some new mounts to suit the Night Tech Mini-Sight series of thermal sights that direct mount to an 11mm dovetail, anodised and looking pretty. If you want a neat option for your rimfire, hit him up. Hes asking $210 posted
10.01.2022 And there she is. I went with a FLIR 183 dovetail mount. It was the only reputable brand I could find in country and available at a consumer level at the moment. So now its just the wait to pop the little 640 thermal on!
10.01.2022 The NV008 found a home on the RPRR for testing. This little rifle drives tacks and will be a great little platform to see what we can do...
08.01.2022 Righto. Ive got my thoughts together on the little MS-19 from Night Tech and how I think it performs as a genuinely budget friendly, entry level thermal scope. Ill get a video uploaded as soon as I find some decent service
07.01.2022 Foxes 2 & 3 that dropped during my first run testing the MS-19. I detected them at 450m with the 640 XD50 as they worked toward me. I put the vixen on the ground at 75m before dropping the dog 5 minutes later as it circled back to find its vixen at the same distance...
06.01.2022 Well, Ive been pre-release testing the new MS-19 thermal sight from night tech. This one slides in as an entry level optic with a RRP of $2599 AUD. Its been fun testing the units capabilities and finding its limits while having the opportunity to actively participate in some final tweaks that will see a thermal optic on the market that fits inside a tighter budget than was previously available, while still offering the sheer advantages that thermal brings. Its a really interesting little optic given where it sits on the price chain. I know there will be a lot of questions regarding the capability of it and Im more than happy to field those. My first shot fired with the MS-19 outside the range netted this dog fox at 146m.....
06.01.2022 Dudes!! Please dont message me requesting help on how to become a contract shooter or how to improve your contracting business. Im not a business coach nor am I qualified to offer that advice. Unfortunately, Ive been kicked to the curb twice now by prominent contractors with a social media presence and its used all of my patience up. While Ive made some awesome mates in this industry, Ive also found there are people who will use you for the info / help they need and then let their ego take over and shit on you. Im happy to offer help with most things, if I can, but the messages about the business aspect will go unanswered
06.01.2022 Meet Sammy. Sammy will be operating the caller this evening....

05.01.2022 Exciting times! Ill swap the NV shroud out tonight on the pig lid and the dovetail mount arrives tomorrow. All thats left is the rear battery pouch to house an external battery / DVR and the thermal unit itself! Ive decided on an Iray MH25 and dropped a deposit today with the crew at Night Hunter so it shouldnt be too long now. I also received some more Aussie made swag, the Bolt 12 pack and Loady Pouch from the dudes at High Range Outdoors to carry it in. Its a seriously good little pack and compliments the Zulu 20 I already have nicely. I cant wait to get this kit into the paddock
05.01.2022 My thoughts on the little MS-19 entry level thermal scope. I forgot to mention on the video the scope footage is a recording of the screen, its not video out so obviously its a degraded picture. Aside from that, this is a bit exciting as well see more users being able to deep dive in!

04.01.2022 Well, as promised! Ive come up with a standardised testing range for NV and thermal so the pard will be the first to run through it and Ill run the Wraith and MS-42 through it as well. Plan is to have a standardised testing procedure that shows zero bias and tests the products as they perform out of the box. Itll include using the standard illuminator as well as the 66lrx on these NV units. A quick look through this thing this morning actually has me wanting to see what it can do
02.01.2022 Alright. So Ive had heaps of questions regarding the PARD 008 and as yet havent been able to answer them as I havent used one. Im currently organising a unit to run through its paces and review. Interestingly, for those of you who are looking at them, you no longer need to buy sight unseen off the net. Ive seen they are popping up in your local gun shops where you can check them out in person
01.01.2022 Ive had a ball testing this little entry level thermal optic, taking a step back and trying to view it through the eyes of a first time user.... https://www.facebook.com/933142693458426/posts/2978329525606389/?vh=e&extid=JkI4oHfe4qWUbd2x&d=n
01.01.2022 A bucket load of questions in my inbox around the PARD NV008. I will get to testing it guys, soon. The issue is, I wont run NV over thermal on the majority of my current contracts, so it will take a minute but I will get to it
