23.01.2022 I was trawling the Internet to find some information for a client and I stumbled on this Ayurvedic technique you could use with the YL oils. I tried to link the page but couldn't so I shall post a link (plus the latest artistic effort of mine since posts seem a little naked without an image) to the source as well. ENJOY! I am an herbalist and acupuncturist, and I both use oil pulling myself while also recommending it to my patients. I had a female patient in her 60s schedul...ed for a root canal who was able to avoid this procedure after oil pulling with sesame oil for just one week! I have seen great improvement in my own gum health over years of doing this off and on for about 3-4 days/week. Regarding sesame oil, in particular: I recently finished a weekend class with Jeffrey Yuen which focused on cancer and CM nutritional therapy. He spent quite a bit of time discussing the benefits of cold-pressed sesame oil. It is one of the few foods that is naturally higher in omega-3s vs. omega-6s, so naturally reduces inflammation. Swishing - or oil pulling - with sesame oil for 10-20 minutes removes mucus and toxins from the mouth and teeth. Since this is the first inlet to the digestive system, imagine what this does for the digestive system and intestines! It is my understanding that oil pulling is originally an ayurvedic technique, possibly around as a form of brushing and flossing before we had those tools. I highly recommend it to anyone with oral or digestive issues. Kellie http://www.yinyanghouse.com/forum/oil-pulling

22.01.2022 Dorothy Douglass, shiatsu therapist and co-founder of one the first Shiatsu schools in Melbourne ran our last workshop in Croydon. Here she is brainstorming the content with Hal! The enthusiastic response means she will be running another one soon. I have asked her to share her thoughts on the next workshop.

21.01.2022 I am going to be scrutinising my fruit (when do I ever set foot in a supermarket for anything but toilet paper!)

17.01.2022 Feathering as shown by Jeff Spicer, Lakotah American Indian descendant, taught last weekend at my Vibrational Harmonics workshop as part of Vibrational Raindrop Technique.

17.01.2022 Yeah -- Chiara is one fun person to teach this stuff so if you are in the area...

17.01.2022 I went off to Shambala's Facebook page to find some pictures as I promised. I have also liked the site so please go and imagine yourself there! So here is some interesting facts that we will be working with -- I have discovered that Countries have an associated element -- Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal in the same way as people do. Australia is Fire and this makes it challenging for Fire elements. Nothing like mixing fire with fire! Now Turkey is Earth element -- associated with the season of summer. Earth element and nurturing go hand in hand so it is no wonder that my fondest memories are first the people and then the food. I recall getting fresh pomegranate juice as I walked through Istanbul with Gamze...

15.01.2022 Here is a story from my animal loving mentor and friend, Artemis: Recently I was invited to demonstrate Emotional Clearing Technique to my sister’s farrier (see the instructions below on which oils I use, and where I place them). He was keen to see the results that essential oils can have on the emotional wellbeing of horses, and offered me his horse Striker to work on. Striker is a beautiful bay race horse, who has become quite agitated while floating. For Striker, the mos...t amazing experience happened part-way through the treatment. He seemed to be really enjoying himself, and became very connected with me, even placing his nose to my nose so that we stood like that (see pic), breathing each other in. Then he began turning his head to look down his left hand side. My sister and her friend happened to be watching, and both of them commented that he seemed to be pointing to his left side. I stood on his left, and placed my hand on his lower back. I am quite kinaesthetic, and often can feel into a body. I sensed he was in discomfort around his lower back, so I just stood there with my hands connecting with his back. I returned up closer to his head to apply the next oil, and the next thing I knew he was nibbling my left hip/buttock!!! I got the message, and went to his left rump..and began deeply massaging him there. I added some Lemongrass and Idaho Balsam Fir oils (which I love using on my own muscles). After about 5 minutes of some deep horse massaging, I came back up to his head, and he began nibbling my right hip/buttock so yes, I got the message, and went to his right rump and massaged him there with the same oils. I then added some Oregano and Peppermint oil to his lower back near the spine (both of these oils being part of Raindrop Technique, so good for the overall spinal area). Even though I’ve worked on quite a number of horses, I was really touched by how actively Striker was communicating with me. He taught me how effectively horses can communicate their needs to us. The funniest thing (for me) was that once I’d responded to Striker’s instructions, he then was like a Master with me his humble servant. He dismissed me, and simply wanted to go out to graze. I quickly finished the remaining oils for the emotional clearing technique, although I am not sure that it was even needed by that point. I got the distinct feeling that he’d received exactly what he needed, and it was some TLC for his back. As for floating yes, he did improve a little with his floating (in fact, he was better than he’d been in a long while).but it still wasn’t a huge improvement. We’re still working on that one.so any tips from our horse friends would be greatly appreciated.

13.01.2022 Come One Come All!

10.01.2022 The Landscapes of the Heart workshop happened out of the amazing work we did last year in Patika in Southern Turkey. We had one day, the one on Emotions, that was a big hit. So when Gamze asked me if I could do 5 days -- I began to ponder on how I could create a retreat workshop where one could positively experience and transform states of fear, anger, love, identity and separation. Once I got the content together, I was happy to remember the mornings of the last time when the sun was so glorious as I walked down to the breakfast area and looked down towards the sea.

08.01.2022 After we finished our workshop last year, Sibel and Gamze, Hal & I spent an evening figuring out where to go next, and we didn't know what came over us -- we were so light-hearted and laughing and Sibel was ever the travel agent -- she said go to Kayakoy! So there we went -- following the chickens and eating figs off the trees.

06.01.2022 Hal has been getting into Melissa tea lately, making a weak brew that tastes remarkably like green tea. I'm going to have a second one for the evening so I can sleep well... and I'm going to put a few drops of YL Melissa oil in capsules. I keep this one in my stash of special oils and I get it on my Reward points because it is quite expensive otherwise. From my research: Melissa has powerful anti-microbial constituents. The nature of the plant is very gentle and delicate and helps to bring out those characteristics in an individual. Historically, melissa was used for nervous disorders and many different ailments dealing with the heart or the emotions. It was also used to promote fertility. Melissa was the main ingredient in Carmelite water, distilled in France since 1611 by the Carmelite monks.
