23.01.2022 Here are some beautiful words of encouragement from Ps Anna This has long been one of my favourite passages of scripture. I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. For Justin and I being part of, committed to and serving our local church is something we have chosen to prioritise for our family. Not because we work for the church, because even if we didn’t, our priorities wouldn’t change. It’s a ‘get to’ not a ‘have to’. It’s because we know the value it adds to our live...s and the value we can add to the lives of others by choosing to be part of this community. It’s interesting that the psalmist writes One thing I ask of the Lord... maybe it’s because when we get that one priority right in our life, other things flow from there. When we choose to put God first and be committed to his Church, we find community, we sit under teaching that encourages us in our faith, we come into an atmosphere of worship, we become generous with our time and using our skills and talents for others benefit and we have an opportunity to encourage others who may need it. The list goes on... and all of a sudden we realise that our lives are bigger than ourselves, that everything will be ok, that we are actually designed for community and that putting God first is actually what brings the greatest perspective and fulfilment to our lives. This is an interesting season. Screen fatigue is real. Let’s be honest, online church is not the same. But... as for me and my house, we’re creating community in our home, inviting people to watch together. And what I’ve come to realise is that when we choose to participate, engage, tune in... we begin to see the beauty of the Lord as we seek Him ‘in His temple’. He’s been too good to me to not honour Him with all I’ve got. See more
