20.01.2022 A Major New Winery Administration, Visitor and Laboratory building in the Riverina, New South Wales to form the face of an established but expanding winery. This building includes a wide program that includes offices, technical testing & tasting laboratories, board room, visitor and tour reception, winemakers work areas, multi function meeting rooms, and break rooms. Functional spaces have been arranged around social hub plan that includes communal areas that open on to sha...ded courtyards to encourage social interaction amongst staff and visitors. A large entry verandah adjacent a recycled water lagoon aids natural building cooling and provides a decked area and entry path to allow the traditional wine industry walk and talk to take place. The building utilises industrial building techniques combined with efficient fitout design and planning to deliver an economical build for the winery. Best Practice environmental design principles are integrated throughout the design, including an automated night purge natural ventilation system incorporated to help keep the building cool in the extended hot Griffith summers. 19.01.2022 The Equine Centre for the University of Ballarat at the Mt Rowan campus provides stabling and riding facilities for the University students, for their educational based activities for the Thoroughbred Training Certificates and Diploma in Racing as well as the VETiS equine program. The facility also provides the regional Riding for the Disabled Association with a base. The indoor arena building is constructed utlising an innovative longspan laminated timber structure.

12.01.2022 A House Extension to an existing family home on Waterfall Gully Road in scenic Waterfall Gully focussing on adaptive re-use and sustainability. C4 architects negotiated stringent planning rules in order to increase the accommodation for the growing family. The result has a cantilevering bedroom and study wing that overlooks the lush natural setting and careful re working of interior spaces to make the most of the natural setting. The cool local climate required a strong focus... on sustainability in the design from the outset, with limited access to natural winter sun due to the sites location. Sustainable design principles included maximising the north sun access, heavily insulate the existing building fabric, re-double glaze all windows by re-using / recycling the existing timber window frames, high level automated awning windows for summer ventilation, incorporate solar power, expand the cliff side cellar and re-use of the existing building fabric as much as possible. 02.01.2022 The Captain residence sits on 410 square metres of a subdivided block in the historically significant beachside settlement of Grange, nearby Captain Charles Sturts Cottage and 400metres behind the main coastal sand dune. It has been recognised by the SA Institute of Architects by winning a commendation at the 2013 Architecture Awards. The 4 bedroom home makes use of adjacent rear and side lanes to the north and east of the site and scale and form responds to the mix of single storey and two storey dwellings and adjacent heritage overlays. The residence is a contemporary Courtyard House designed around a landscaped central courtyard and swimming pool to create a natural light well for the open internal spaces of the house.
