25.01.2022 Tuesday was Pizza Day at Cabanda Care's Lodge where residents added various ingredients to the base, totally nutritional of course! There was a lot of discussion as to just what makes up the best pizza. You can tell by the photos that everyone enjoyed their pizza no matter what topping was added or how long it was cooked. Bon appetite!

25.01.2022 There has been a 'hive of activity' pardon the pun at Cabanda Care's Lodge over the past few weeks building bee and insect houses. With support from Robyn, Jenny, Kim and the team, residents have sanded them, cut the bamboo to fit, collected bits and pieces and carefully put them together. While some of their effort is still a work in progress, we are all looking forward to seeing the finished product... and the bess and insects can't wait to move in too!.

24.01.2022 There is no better way to enjoy sunshine and fresh air than to play a game. Residents at Cabanda Care spent a few hours mastering the art of croquet; hitting that coloured ball with the mallet through the 'wickets'. This does wonders, providing excellent social interaction, hand/eye coordination and of course more importantly having a good hit and giggle at the same time.

24.01.2022 Residents have been enjoying their Craft, Bastille Day Christmas in July this month.

23.01.2022 Late last week, Esme and Chester Wyatt celebrated their 72nd Wedding Anniversary. On behalf of everyone at Cabanda Care, we would like to wish Esme and Chester all the very best for their special day. We were very appreciative of the beautiful flowers that were generously donated to Cabanda Care and made good use of the gift by making a special arrangement for the Wyatt’s anniversary and a lovely bouquet for some of our residents.

21.01.2022 The Annual Melbourne Cup day was held under Covid-19 restrictions at Cabanda's Social Group, but that didn't stop those attending having a great day. There were the fun activities like the Lucky Door, Sweeps, Games and Trivia as well as Fashions of the Field and a delightful Champagne Lunch.

19.01.2022 As you would be aware, there are changes under Covid-19 almost every day and those changes do impact on life here at Cabanda Care. The ‘good news’ is Cabanda Care does not have any Covid cases involving residents, clients, staff or their families and we will continue to do our very best to maintain that status. As instructed by the Health Department and as a precautionary measure, we have had to make changes to our regular programs, particularly Social Group’s calendar and w...ill let you know when their program returns. You can still access some transport services by contacting 5464 2392. Residents continue to enjoy their craft days... look out for their fun photos on Facebook soon!

16.01.2022 Cabanda Social Group unpacked the tinsel and decked out the Christmas tree for our Christmas in July program. Clients were invited to come along and join us for a festive program with Entertainment by Bob & Kath as well as the usual terrible cracker jokes and a beautiful traditional Roast Christmas Lunch. Clients, volunteers and staff alike enjoyed our Christmas program. The Social Group is back up and running in a somewhat modified form to be in line with our COVID Safe p...lan, but we are over the moon to be welcoming back our Client with elbow bumps and hand sanitizer and social distancing Diversional Therapist Nicholie Patterson said. Our main objective it to keep everyone involved with our Social Group as safe as we possibly can, and to do that we have had to make some adjustments to how we had been running the service. These changes have not dampened the enthusiasm of our returning Clients and we are always ready to welcome new people to the program.

Social group will gladly take donations of fabric to keep the clients and volunteers sewing. Please call 54 642 642 if you can help.

03.01.2022 Even though regional shows were cancelled due to Covid-19, at Cabanda Care, as the saying goes... the show must go on. We had cattle, pig, chook, sheep, produce, flowers and craft pavilions; even side show alley. Residents enjoyed modified versions of the clowns, knock-over cans, fishing for ducks and every player won a prize! Dagwood dogs were on the menu for morning tea, and residents were given a sample bag and fairy floss. The main ring event was 'Antz in your Pantz' an...d he really kept our residents amused with his funny antics. And the show spirit flowed through to staff and volunteers who wore jeans, checked shirts and hats at the show. More photos from the Cabanda Show will be printed in next month's Kalori newsleter to be released next week. See more
