23.01.2022 Keep an eye out at 12.30 as there are 5 Roulettes scheduled to arrive at Mildura Airport. Hopefully they will come across the City which would be pretty impressive!!!

21.01.2022 Anyone interested in star gazing Oasis Star Gazers club is just down the road out near the airport, hopefully we will have our new battery shortly for the binoculars at the lake which can also be used for staring at the stars according to our supplier. Obviously not as good as a telescope but a great introduction for the kids!

18.01.2022 Student Safety Petition Update Note that our petition will be getting submitted to MRCC next week so we could really do with the public's help to gather signatures and support our school in providing safe infrastructure for kids to ride and walk to school from all directions within the community. We currently have over 120 hard signatures and approx 400 online signatures. Further work is being done to submit a community plan that will also be submitted to MRCC in the near future, this plan will have the ability to cover multiple topics and your feedback and guidance can be given via our community survey which has been running for many years as an ongoing feedback tool. Current submissions are welcome and we look forward to hearing what you have to say about what is important to you as a resident and a user of our local facilities, club member, or whatever capacity you engage with Cabarita. 10.01.2022 Got local issues you would like solved e.g. rubbish dumping, overflowing bins? Try this app and see if its helpful and give us some feedback....https://www.snapsendsolve.com/ I've just tried this with a little big issue down at the common so I'll be interested to see if it works. You take a photo of the issue submit on the app and fill in some support info e.g. location tag and the agency to contact e.g. MRCC PS We have submitted a couple of requests to MRCC to place public bins at both Regina Avenue and Dyar Avenue walking trail entrances to reduce the rubbish issue - still waiting for a response! I'm sure they'll get back to us soon....

09.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who has joined or following Cabarita Inc, and in particular those who have filled our community survey, along with the MRCC survey for Outdoor Areas which offers our residents and visitors the chance to have some say on where they would like to see improvements. If you would like to further assist Cabarita Inc to undertake projects and assist the community in having a united voice we do have our own Go Fund Me fundraiser running at the moment which even the... smallest amount would assist us in setting up the new community centre at the Sailing Club which we hope will be open for business once Covid restrictions ease again. Money raised will assist in the operational expenses of running the buildings along with project planning and implementation so if you can spare a couple of $ we'd greatly appreciate it as we are unable to run events at this time but the work we're doing doesn't neither do the bills!! gf.me/u/x4tcw9

06.01.2022 So you're out for a walk and find this......amazing find but a little sad to know this fella didn't quite make it. This was found between Merbein and Mildura on a track near the river only yesterday! You can make it count though and just like Brooklyn take a photo and a note of the location then post it to the TurtleSat website (if you do it from your phone you can use your location for mapping). Research is being done on turtles along the murray river and this is how you ca...n contribute! Alive, not so alive, adult, juvenile, nest, skeletal or egg remnants can all be documented and its REALLY easy! Go to the start mapping button and fill in the information on the left side menu and drag the map pin to the location you found the speciman. 06.01.2022 MRCC letter to the community below:- Please note that Cabarita Community Inc is currently advocating for a connection to the Mildura South wetlands walking/bike trails via an allocation of community easement for the perimeter of Lake Hawthorn. This would mean a lot of work on navigating boundary changes to college lease, as well as rezoning of some areas which has already been earmarked in the Mildura South Plan which we believe is a very positive move. Please use MRCC open s...paces survey below as an opportunity to support Cabarita Inc in gaining safe passage for children to access The Lake PS and also for families in the area to access the already existing trails around Lake Hawthorn. If you support us in this concept please also fill out our community survey as well so that we have your ideas in our hands as well as the MRCC as this will give us more opportunity to represent the community!
