25.01.2022 Some silky oak I was given and milled a small piece down. It has amazing grain, and is a dense hardwood. Unfortunately it is still VERY green, but I couldn't wait to look inside. I got two trailer loads off it, so there should be enough for a couple of coffee tables, and a whole bunch of turned product from the small bits :)

24.01.2022 Door stops for the humans and perches for the birds.

22.01.2022 A beautiful and fragrant camphor wood glory box under restoration. It's made the whole shop smell so amazing. Emblazoned with an oriental and dramatic Dragon vs Phoenix hand carving.

17.01.2022 Rustic upcycled-timber peg boards for sale, for bills, notes etc. Sturdy basic joinery assembly, means no unsightly screws or nails. Reinforced keyhole mounting slot, for a flush fit against your hanging surface. Routed inset for chicken wire, allowing easy pegging, even while frame is resting flush on your hanging surface, and no stapes or sharp exposed edges of wire. Comes with antiquated appearance pegs, to match the rustic hardwood frame. Frame sealed with a durable polyurethane finish. Sale price of $50 each.

15.01.2022 Sneak peak at some blacksmith scrolls and hooks for current projects. Stay tuned for the finished products soon! And some wood turned seed depth sticks!

14.01.2022 New facet to the business. Blacksmithing. For fabricating specialist products, to use to enhance furniture and to embellish construction projects, with an industrial era element. There is a lot of learning going on still but with practice, saleable produce should start rolling out soon!

12.01.2022 Before and After..

12.01.2022 I have adopted a couple of big brothers for my self-restored No.5 a pleasant mannered No.6 and a spritely No.7. They are both in pretty good nick, so there isn't much point making them my signature green yet. One day though. I did sharpen them up and got some nice long shaves off a short piece of timber..

11.01.2022 Large plant pots. $75 each. 800mm high x 500mm width at top.

03.01.2022 We snapped out last hatchet handle, so I copied it's pattern, made it a little broader, so it fits comfortably in my hand now. Spent more time than I should have on the head too. Polished and oiled and sharpened, it went through this offshoot branch in half a dozen whacks. It might even work better on my whiskers than my old razor blade I use. Can't wait until one of these heads come out of my own forge.

03.01.2022 Full restoration on my new No.5. And ain't she a beauty. Sorry about the glow in the photos, but this angel has a halo. Also, if anyone has a tool and heirloom they want to give new life, I can provide this as a service. I love seeing the old renewed. About $75 for a hand plane like this. And when it is finished it will be good enough to display in your man cave and make great grand father proud. And practical enough to use too! Other hand tools will typically be cheaper, such as hand saws, spoke shakes, saw-set. Even if you don't know what it is, send a photo and ask for a quote :)

03.01.2022 Tea towel rack, comprised of a lamination of Messmate and Mountain Ash, finished with the beautifully aesthetic Tongue Oil, turned in The Happy Llamas workshop. #nostains #naturaltimber
