25.01.2022 In an effort to keep us all safe, the Learning Centre will be closed. There will be no crocheting or sewing Tuesdays until further notice.
25.01.2022 We have had a scam NBN call at the Centre. Our phone rang twice but hung up after a couple of seconds. Third time was a robo-call saying they were from NBN Co. If we didnt reply we would have our phone and internet cut off. Just HANG UP immediately NBN do not call customers they are a wholesaler to other phone companies. Refer to the telecommunications Industry Ombudsmens website link below.... https://www.tio.com.au//robocall-scam-about-disconnection-

22.01.2022 What do you do when a jam customer on Bribie Island gives you some Scorpion chilli he has grown. Scorpion chillis are one of the three hottest chillis in the world. Well you make chilli jam of course. Keep out of reach of children. A quarter of a teaspoon in Tom Yum soup and it was just bearable. Only for REAL chilli eaters. Available at the Centre at Gramps Burn Bar.

18.01.2022 Think of the school kids that you know that could do with a laptop to do their online learning. I have been able to refurbish a couple of old laptops that were laying around. If you have an old laptop with Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 operating systems they can still be updated to Windows 10 for free. Add the latest Microsoft Edge browser which is based on Chromium and or Google Chrome. These work with the online learning platforms the schools use or recommend. There is free Office software available for download such as Libre Office or OpenOffice which are compatible with Microsoft Office. Have a clean up and pass on your unused tech
