25.01.2022 NAIDOC WEEK 2020 - Across the week, families have gathered together as we celebrate NAIDOC Week. Families have been involved in tree planting, craft activities, musical experiences and story times. Our banner with our families handprints has visited our Caboolture, Morayfield, Burpengary and Woodford programs. Families have shared stories and gained knowledge. These photos are just a small snapshot of our experiences this week. We want to thank all of you for joining us and celebrating NAIDOC Week 2020.



25.01.2022 SCONE BAKE-OFF - Join us as Barb, Maddy and Grace cook up their favourite scone recipes. Deb joins us at the end of the video to test the scones and announce the winner! Maybe you would like to have a cooking competition at home? Or you might like to cook up your favourite scones?

24.01.2022 FIVE LITTLE DUCKS - 5 little ducks went out one day, over the hills and far away... You can sing along at home, as Dee and Sally help Mother Duck find her little ducks.

24.01.2022 FISHING GAME - With a piece of string, a stick and a magnet, you can make a fishing rod to catch paper fish! Mitzi explains the how-to, for you to create your own game at home. You can challenge Mum, Dad or your siblings to see who can catch the most fish.

23.01.2022 CANCELLED PLAYGROUP - Due to COVID regulations and restrictions, Playtime in the Park has been cancelled indefinitely. Over the next week we will be announcing some new groups as well as family favourites that will be starting Term 4 along with dates and registration processes, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime and while we continue to work with changing laws and restrictions, EYP staff will continue to create quality virtual content for the whole family. Please feel free to comment below and let us know what content you are loving as well as what youd like to see more of.

22.01.2022 NAIDOC Week 2020 - What a busy week we have had here at the EYP! Families who have attended our programs this week have been given the opportunity to participate in planting our Bush Tucker gardens. With plants from the Friends Of Lagoon Creek nursery, we were able to fill our garden beds with a variety of native edible plants including Native Mulberry and Apple Berry. This experience opened conversations around the country we live on, cultural traditions and our native plants and animals.



22.01.2022 OUTDOOR PLAY - Looking for a fun and exciting way to enjoy this stunning weather? Try an outdoor obstacle course! Just using the things you have at home you can make an obstacle course as hard or as easy as you want. This is a great way to get the kids outside for an hour or so without even having to leave the house.

21.01.2022 COOKING WITH THECEL - Today, Thecel is cooking up a delicious rainbow dish with orange carrots, green peas and cabbage, white cauliflower and red capsicum! With some other special ingredients, this dish is easy to prepare in only one pan! Do you have a favourite recipe you like to cook for the family at home? We would love to know!

20.01.2022 CHILD HEALTH - This week you may have noticed that Child Health were missing from BUBS groups. Well were thrilled to welcome them back! Next time you see them theyll be looking a little different with their masks and PPE gear as QLD Health have asked all Child Health nurses to wear protective clothing. Masks are not currently mandatory for Caboolture Early Years Place staff or families wishing to attend groups but anyone is welcome to wear one. At all of our groups, staff and families are expected to follow social distancing regulations and access the hand sanitising stations on arrival and departure of all groups.

19.01.2022 SILK WORMS AT PRE-KINDY - The families at our Caboolture pre-kindy program have been lucky enough to watch our silk worms go through their different stages of life! At the start of term, we had caterpillars. Over the past few weeks, silk cocoons were spun, moths emerged and have already laid more eggs, ready for more caterpillars on join us. In this quick video, you can also get a glimpse into the life of a silk worm!

19.01.2022 EKKA FARM ANIMALS - Cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and ducks! There are so many animals, big and small, to see at a farm or at the Ekka. Listen out for the funny noises these animals make, as Dee and Sally tell you the story of Cock-a-Moo-Moo, using puppets and toys.



19.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE PART 2 - The Queensland Government has announced revised restrictions for Moreton Bay Regional Council from Saturday 22nd August 2020. These restrictions relate to the reduction of the number of people gathering in public places, so until further notice our Playtime in the Park will be cancelled, ALL OTHER GROUPS HELD AT EYP SITES WILL CONTINUE AS NORMAL. We are all in this together, we all have a responsibility in protecting our community and to minimis...e the risk associated with the spread of COVID 19. You can assist us by not attending any of our groups: if you have any symptoms of COVID 19, such as fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath. have been in close contact with anyone who has tested positive to COVID- 19 in the past 14 days. have visited any of those areas listed under contract tracing on Qld Health site in the past 14 days: https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing are awaiting the results of COVID-19 testing or live with anyone who has been tested and awaiting results. have travelled overseas in the last 14 days. have been asked to self-isolate in the last 14 days. have travelled to a state other than Queensland (unless with proper approval permits) If you have any questions or concerns please contact our office on 5428 1477. 18.01.2022 FIVE MINUTE ICE CREAM - Looking for a quick and easy treat that the kids can make? Check out this recipe for Ice Cream in a Bag. All you need is: milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, strawberries, a large and small zip lock bag, ice cubes and cooking salt. You can leave out the sugar, vanilla and strawberries if you wish, and add your own flavours to change it up.

18.01.2022 INDIGENOUS LITERACY DAY EVENT - See the link below from The Indigenous Literacy Foundation to watch todays celebration. This event will be a window into our work, the joy of books and reading, and the importance of first languages.

17.01.2022 CHATTERBOX ACTIVITY - Warning! This activity will transport you straight back to primary school. A chatterbox is perfect for school aged kids and will keep them busy for hours. In the spirit of National Child Protection Week 2020 one of our staff members has added examples of some conversation starters around safety in the home, at school, and with friends. The example will be added in the comments section of this post with a chatterbox template. Other ways to fill out a chatterbox could be with jokes or activities to do. Feel free to share pictures in the comments below of your creative chatterboxes.

16.01.2022 PRE-KINDY - Are you thinking of booking your child in for one of our Pre-Kindy programs in 2021? Here’s a sneak peek of some of the fun activities on offer! Pre-Kindy is an enrolled program for children and families. 2021 Pre-kindy will be for children born between 1/7/17 - 30/6/18 who reside in the old Caboolture Shire catchment area. The program is free for parents and children to attend. The program is facilitated across our Caboolture, Morayfield, Burpengary and Woodford sites. If you haven’t already, you can phone reception on 5428 1477 to complete an expression of interest. Places will be offered to families at the end of this year.

16.01.2022 YOGA - It is the end of yet another busy day. Take some time to breathe and relax as Deb and Tash guide you through some breathing and yoga poses to wind down. 15.01.2022 SPRING HAS SPRUNG - The families and facilitators at the Morayfield Pre-Kindy have been very busy getting the gardens ready for spring. The children have been digging the soil, planting and watering marigolds, basil, mint, lavender and parsley. We are looking forward to watching the garden grow throughout term 4!

14.01.2022 MISS POLLY - Dee and Sally are back again with another classic nursery rhyme. This time, Miss Polly is not feeling well and must see a doctor. Luckily, the doctor can come quick, quick, quick and Miss Polly is feeling much better now. What are your favourite songs to sing at home?

13.01.2022 NATIONAL CHILD PROTECTION WEEK - Child protection is a cause we are excited to get behind. Keep an eye on our page for the remainder of the week as well be sharing content from different organisations and foundations to educate and inform families of the different ways we can stay focused on the safety of the children in our communities. 12.01.2022 WOODFORD PRE KINDY - Join Miss Elizabeth as she takes a tour through Woodford Pre Kindy before the children arrive. Our Pre Kindy waiting lists are open for 2021 for children born between 01/07/17 and 30/06/18 and who live in the old Caboolture Shire Council catchment. This play focused group encourages families to come together with educators to support children and their development within a welcoming learning environment. Session plans are underpinned by the Early Years Learning Framework and facilitated by our fantastic team of Early Childhood Educators. Pre Kindy groups will be held at all four of our sites - Caboolture, Burpengary, Morayfield and Woodford. For any questions or to register please call reception on 5428 1477

12.01.2022 This week is National Child Protection Week and this Thursday, 10th of September, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation will be presenting Australias Biggest Child Safety Lesson, for children aged 4 - 7 years old. See the link below for information and to register.

10.01.2022 YOGA - In todays Yoga clip, Deb and Tash will guide you through some basic breathing, twisting and stretching movements. These easy movements can be done with your child or partner, if you wish. If you dont have a large ball, like we used, you might want to use a soft toy or pillow instead. 10.01.2022 PARENTS GUIDE TO SOCIAL MEDIA FOR KIDS - As a part of National Child Protection Week the eSafety Commissioner will be providing a FREE webinar to educate parents and carers on popular apps used by young people such as TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat and YouTube. The webinar will be held tonight (Wednesday 9th) at 7.30pm - 8.30pm or tomorrow (Thursday 10th) at 12.30pm - 1.30pm. 06.01.2022 BUBS GROUP REGISTRATION CHANGES - Please see below to read about our new registration process changes for BUBS groups. - If you would like to secure a place in one of our 5 BUBS groups at Caboolture, Morayfield, Burpengary and Woodford you will need to call weekly and register for your place in the group for the following week. - Registration for each group will open the afternoon after it has been run (Woodford BUBS registration will open Tuesday afternoon, Morayfield BUBS... registration opens Thursday afternoons. Please see the picture above for what days each group is running). - When attending a group, families are able to register for the following week with their group facilitator. - Unfortunately, we cannot secure a place for families via Facebook Messenger and ask that all registrations be made with reception on 5428 1477. This new registration process is being rolled out due to the high level of demand for our BUBS groups at all 4 sites and hope as a result of these changes that more families will have the opportunity to attend this very popular group. We will be contacting families to post packs * Hands up if Fathers Day might have slipped your mind this year We get it, so dont worry because weve got you covered! Comment below to let us know if you would like us to send you a pack full of Fathers Day creative goodies. This pack will have crafts and activities for children of all ages (some assistance may be required for younger children). For families who attend... groups at any of our sites, all children attending will have the opportunity to complete the same arts and crafts during group times that will be found in the pack, however if you dont mind a double up youre invited to also receive a send home pack. Unfortunately, we can only mail out one pack per address. To be eligible for a pack you will need to be located in the old Caboolture Shire catchment (all suburbs within Deception Bay, Nerangba, Woodford, Elimbah and Bribie Island). Once you have commented we will message you privately to get your address. The cut off for these very popular packs will be the afternoon of Tuesday 25.08.20 so feel free to share and tag for friends and family to see before we run out! See more

04.01.2022 MIGHTY HEROES - Starting on Wednesday 21st October 2020, at 3.30pm - 4.30pm, we will be facilitating this 6 week program targeting the social and emotional wellbeing of children in grades 1-3. This play based childrens program uses craft, story telling, role play and games to address key areas of a childs social and emotional needs including mood management, calm down strategies, friendships, resilience, emotional regulation and more. Children will need to be registered to attend so please call reception on 5428 1477. Each child attending needs to be accompanied by an adult. This group will be run from our Morayfield site at 10b Torrens Rd, Morayfield 4506, which is behind McDonalds. 03.01.2022 TRY THIS AT HOME - With a table, pen and paper, we navigated each other through an obstacle. We had to listen closely and work together to make it through. Keeping your eyes closed does make it tricky, so we had to listen extra carefully! You can give this activity a go at home with your family and friends.
