14.01.2022 **SHOOTERS UNION OFFICIALLY ENDORSE KATTERS AUSTRALIAN PARTY AS FIRST CHOICE FOR QLD VOTERS** QUEENSLANDS leading pro-shooting group is officially backing Kat...ters Australian Party (KAP) as the Vote One choice for its Queensland members in the upcoming State elections on Saturday, October 31. Shooters Union represents the interests of more than 200,000 licensed firearms users in the Sunshine State, including hunters, target shooters, farmers and primary producers, collectors, armourers, dealers, security guards, and emergency services personnel. The organisation has launched its 2020 Queensland Election project with an announcement to all shooters from national president Graham Park to put KAP first if they had a candidate in their electorate, and to put the ALP, Greens and LNP last on the ballot. Over the years, KAP have shown themselves to be friends not only to shooters but to regional and rural Australia as well, Mr Park said. A strong rural economy means a strong Queensland, and regardless of your view on guns, thats something everyone can agree on. The Majors have shown time and time again they arent our friends and they dont trust their own citizens. Theyre restricting toys (gel blasters) and shutting businesses down due to vague public health concerns and refusing to answer questions about it or provide an explanation. They look after the top end of town, particularly Brisbane, and ignore the rest of the state. Where KAP are not running a candidate, Shooters Union are suggesting Pauline Hansons One Nation (PHON) or a pro-gun local independent candidate as the Vote One choice. Like KAP they have the interests of rural and regional Queenslanders at heart, as well as the interests of law-abiding firearms users, Mr Park said. Mr Park said it was absolutely critical Queensland voters understand the Major parties and the Greens need to be at the bottom of the ballot to send a clear message that shooters have had enough of being mistreated, lied to and ignored by them. Its all well and good for people to say Well I dont care about guns, but its only a matter of time before the Majors and the Greens decide to treat things you like the same way cars and 4WDs, fishing, hiking, camping, internet and telecommunications, video games; theyre all in their sights, he said. At the last election, the Flickem - Put The Majors Last campaign we supported resulted in the lowest major party primary vote in Queensland history and directly cost both ALP and LNP more than $1m each in electoral funding. Mr Park said the sole exception to the Put The Majors Last message was for Gympie LNP MP Tony Perrett, who crossed the floor to vote against unnecessary restrictions on law-abiding firearms owners. Its rare to see someone in politics who puts principles above the party, but Mr Perrett did just that and showed himself to be a friend of law-abiding firearms users in the process, so we are encouraging everyone in his electorate to Vote One for him as a result, Mr Park said. Make no mistake: This is one of the most important elections in Queensland for decades. How people vote will directly affect what the states COVID recovery looks like, and whether we are actively getting back on our feet or locked in our homes terrified the Stasi might kick the door in because we shared a meme the Government didnt like on social media. Look at Victoria. As far as were concerned, a vote for ALP is a vote to turn Queensland into East Germany, and were making that point abundantly clear to our members and supporters. This isnt about guns, its about making Queensland a better place for everyone to live. Authorised by J Linsley, 61 Arthur Street Dalby QLD 4405, for Shooters Union Australia

09.01.2022 **PRESS RELEASE ISSUED TODAY TO QLD MEDIA** THE Queensland Governments spiteful war on struggling businesses must end today, according to one of the countrys ...peak lobby groups. In March, the states Chief Health Officer issued an order closing every gun shop and armourer in the state as part of the COVID-19 response. Following intense pressure and from industry, agricultural and rural representatives, that was amended a few days later to allow rural landowners and volunteer pest controllers to buy ammunition and reloading components, but still prevented target shooters, recreational hunters, and competition pistol shooters from buying ammunition or using police-issued Permits To Acquire for firearms. Shooters Union Australia president Graham Park said with the notoriously anti-gun Western Australia now having lifted their trade restrictions and Victoria also helmed by a Labor premier having followed soon after, Queensland had no excuse to keep preventing licensed shooters from buying ammunition or vital equipment. There is no I repeat: absolutely none whatsoever public health emergency justification for restricting the trade of licensed gun shops and armourers in Queensland or anywhere else, for that matter. There wasnt one at the start of this mess and there isnt one now, he said. It is obviously a political move; only the Labor state governments restricted gun shop trading. The decision was not an outcome of the formal National Cabinet meetings, from what we understand. The home confinement directions have largely been lifted, outdoor shooting ranges are open again while exercising social distancing, and non-essential retail shopping is expressly permitted - so why are Queenslands shooters and associated businesses being punished? The toll on affected businesses from the trade restrictions was enormous, Mr Park said, with a number of gun shops facing financial ruin from having their livelihoods yanked out underneath them without any justification. These were viable local businesses, an important part of their community, and shut down because someone in Brisbane doesnt like guns and decided to take advantage of a crisis to further their own agenda, he said. Every hour Queenslands gun shops and armourers remain restricted in trade just adds to the mountain of proof this decision has been made to hurt law-abiding firearms owners and the businesses supporting them. Mr Park blasted the State Governments refusal to justify themselves on the restrictions and said they needed to be held to account. We have not received a single response to any of the numerous letters and e-mails we have sent the Premier, and the only response we have received from the Chief Health Officers office was clearly written by a staffer and reiterated the changes allowing rural landowners and volunteer pest controllers to buy ammunition changes we helped negotiate in the first place. The contempt the Palaszczuk Government has shown to Queenslands law-abiding shooting community is simply incredible. They havent even given us the courtesy of an obvious and half-baked lie as to why theyve done it weve heard absolutely nothing. We guarantee there will be consequences at the ballot box in October for the way Queensland shooters have been treated by the ALP. Were going to make sure of it.

Two rounds maximum per booking and time limits will apply No gun hire available Abusive behaviour online, over the phone or on the grounds will not be tolerated. Details regarding how to book have been emailed to club members (check your junk/spam folders) & are also on our website. To comply with government legislation and ensure we have the support of our insurer, the above must be strictly adhered to. The club also has additional requirements including having a minimum of 5 club staff on the grounds to facilitate the above. These 5 include: the range officer, one supervisor per layout (x3 layouts running) only the layout supervisor is permitted to operate the controls and someone on the gate of the grounds facilitating access. These changes place a huge requirement on club helpers and we will need assistance to ensure that we can continue to open for practise under these conditions. Thank you to those who have offered their assistance so far, we will be in touch. If you are able to volunteer your time and assist with the operation of this new practise structure now is the time to let us know, email your availability and contact number to [email protected]. We will need help to continue to operate Saturdays and all going well, increase the days that we can open for practise. Please bear with us as we implement these huge changes. We will be assessing the above on a weekly basis and as our governing bodies and the Queensland Government release further advices. Thank you all for your support and patience during these challenging times.
