23.01.2022 Hi everyone have not posted for while, that doesnt mean l have not been busy. The solo pilot in the last post has now been signed off and has been seen flying around Caboolture, the glasshouse mountains the coast, well you get the gest. Just remember the getting of your pilot certificate is a legal document to fly and the learning should never stop, Easter has been and gone, manage to fly a student early Friday morning and that was about it for the whole weekend. Southeast...erly winds all weekend so the hanger got cleaned, 100 hourly completed on the trike new fuel transfer pump/drum set up and going. l am please to report the slow boat from South Africa has finally arrived with the one container l was waiting for, that container is with the importer and its contents assembled. l go and kick its tyrers and put fuel in it tomorrow. The only hold up l believe is the registration due to the Easter break Photos will follow on future post . Cant wait to fly my Sling 2. See more

21.01.2022 Congratulations to Anthony Forshaw - our first student to solo in the Bantam !

19.01.2022 What the..... who turned on the tap?. Caboolture airfield was under water this week the worst l have seen it. So with that no flying, but time to do some maintenance, that killed an hour. Managed a briefing with Richard on Sunday and two flights this morning in glorys conditions so the itch has been scratched Poked me nose into Complete Aircraft Care where David and his team have all but finished the rebuild of the Mustang. How the hell they know where everything goes is beyond me, as there is wires pipes and things all over the place. Here l am with my little bit of maintenance ( hammer and screw driver ) its a credit to all that have worked on her and l can not wait until she flying and we meet down wind in the circuit. Till next week, have a great week and fly safe

19.01.2022 Congratulations to Steve on going solo today. "Another marble in the jar," as he would say. Very well done!

19.01.2022 The weather has been great for flying lately. We hope you enjoyed your trial instructional flight, Ghee, and look forward to starting your training in the coming weeks.

19.01.2022 Its now been a month since the last post. SORRY but thing have been happening at Caboolture Microlights. Big congratulations to Luke on his first solo. Luke now has both A and B endorsements, slowly as she goes building up your flying hours and experience my friend. Russ also has gained his group B endorsement to go with his Group A. Yes It is about gaining the endorsement , but more so ( in my opinion) in the journey to gaining the certification and yes its a big achieveme...nt. Well done both of you. Remember it comes with responsibility, the certification gives you the privilege to fly and learn more and you will and should never stop learning. Finally Ivan and wife Paula were able to go flying after a very long time getting the paper work completed as they had moved from the mother land to Aussie with one trike in tow. Both have flown around England and France in the trike, which is plan to see as they have mitten gloves on the x cross bar. Not required in Queensland????? Many thanks to all of you who help me out a TAVAS weekend with setting up of the pop up and answering all the questions. To Andrew and his TAVAS team well done on a massive task and thank goodness the weather came good. Till next time fly safe Mark

19.01.2022 Great Wheels & Wings event at Caboolture yesterday - thanks to the organisers & all the people who visited the Caboolture Microlights stand for a chat or a fly. Special thanks to Troy from Aerotrek Adventure Flights for taking me for a flight in the awesome T-34 Mentor - Brilliant !

19.01.2022 Mark instructing at Bond Springs

17.01.2022 Whats the go at Caboolture Microlights this week ? Well l have managed some trike flying this week with students, Balbir and myself managed a flight or should l say circuits and he is doing well, Luke got an hour in by himself be fore the conditions turned sad for triking, and by the way Luke has now been signed off, and now holds both group A and B. Well done my friend. Would have loved to show the pic s you sent but god knows where they are and l have given up trying to fin...d them on this computer. A bit of sad news in that l am selling the Bantam, yep she is up for sale. Funny how things work out l finally get the aircraft up to the standard that l want the aircraft in with the personal things you want in your own aircraft and then you sell it. Wonder what l should replace it with????? Watch out for the wind this weekend with this cat 2 just off the coast. Till next Post Fly safe See more

16.01.2022 Busy week with lessons in all our aircraft. Luckily we have found that the trikes, Bantam & Sling can all fit in the hangar. This is perhaps the most diverse fleet of recreational aircraft at any RAAus flying school.

15.01.2022 This weeks happenings at Caboolture Microlights flight training. The weather gods have looked down on us, which has allowed Richard to finally go solo. Well done and congratulations. How good are your eyes ? spot the can of drink and the passenger in the back of his trike. Being a light weight Richard carries his friend in the back seat, name unknown but l call him boxing bag. Steve came down from Rocky in the Sling to have an annual 100 hourly maintenance done on the Slin...g, and landed staying five days due to bad weather, which gave me time to fly the Sling and do a few stalls and circuits. Must say its a nice aircraft to fly just heavier and quicker on approach than what l am use to. A big welcome to Wayne a new student, weather permitting, Saturday we will be doing Effects of Controls Till next post Fly safe

14.01.2022 Hard work pays off! Congratulations to Daryl for going solo today. Also a big congratulations to Duane on completing his pilot certificate earlier this year.

14.01.2022 Congratulations to Anthony on qualifying for his fixed-wing Pilot Certificate in the Bantam. Anthony is now one of very few RAAus pilots endorsed to fly weightshift, fixed wing and powered parachute aircraft groups. Very Well Done ! PS Sorry about the photo - he doesnt usually look that colour even after a flight test with me!

14.01.2022 Virus update Hi all, after consideration and with the lastest updates available, l have decided to continue operations. There are changes though, each aircraft will be sanitised after use. I have purchased head sets kits, I would ask that you bring your own pen, and you will be asked to sign a medical declaration suppied by RAAUS. Both aircraft are available for private hire,so nothing has changed there. Students: while we have this down time, it would be prudent to carry on ...with your studies, l have no problems with you sitting any exams at the office. My intention is to use Caboolture Microlight Facebook page as a platform to keep you all up dated with any changes and to use it more often. So, get to my Facebook page and click like, follow, see first, and Notifications on. Please feel free to phone me and lets keep in touch. See more

13.01.2022 Hi all finally the weather has just about turned the corner, OK may not completely but we have been able to fly. Bantam got a dust off, some fuel and an hours flight during the week. Must say l love flying that machine, its just a fun fun machine. Have managed to catch up on the back log of students and all are progressing well. Easter is this coming this weekend and hopeful some of as will be around for a morning flight to some where, and maybe a coffee. 21 and 22 of April we have a big fly in at caboolture and l hope to have a display with maybe a trike and the Bantam out for the public to view. Hope to sell some gift vouchers and get some ex posher. Well thats it for this weeks post, go flying and be safe

12.01.2022 Hi all, first up a big thanks to Bruce my website designer on getting on top of a problem with face book, l am up and going again. Things have been slow at the flight school with this covid virus, so with that in mind and with the help of Duane some major maintenance was carried out on the Trike. A mast replacement no less, l decided to replace the mast before the required hours while things were quite, Many hands make light work and we had the job done in about an hour. A ...big congratulations goes to sling student Paul who went solo last week. well done mate. Paul is now sitting this Commercial pilots licence with Heli Works here at Caboolture and planning a career in aviation. Well thats it for now FLY SAFE. See more

10.01.2022 This week at Cab-Microlights flight training. Well got a BFR in for a lost trike pilot well he wasnt lost just not flown for a while, been flying every thing else by the sounds of it. l love watching when pilots get out of a trike no matter if there experienced pilots or its there first flight they all have a grin from ear to ear. Where the hell did l put the keys Oh and my head phones? Maybe in here?... Robs now on to circuits and loving it, And doing well l must say Fly safe you all, till next week

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Dave Pedersen for completing his type conversion to the Bantam (plus his BFR and 2stroke endorsement). Thanks for all your hard work and good luck flying your own Bantam back in WA !

08.01.2022 Finally back on Facebook its been six weeks SORRY. Things have been happening thats for sure. First up big congrats to Grant Carter in finally getting signed off for his weight shift pilot certificate, well done, it been a mission having to travel up from the Gold Coast for lessons, Great Commitment. Another congrats to Rob Bassingweighte going solo in the Tecnam about two weeks ago. and yesterday solo in the Sling. The what? Yes Sling its arrival is six weeks over due but ...it is here now. Must admit its a bit flash with all the bells and whistles, and a pleasure to fly. Now with the Slings arrival l can get advertising completed and the web up dated. Its amazing who comes out of the wood work at times but great to have Troy Dalimore finally complete his weight shift endorsement, Troy has been around for a while and now has both A and B endorsements and likes Slings. That s it for now will try to post more often. Be safe

08.01.2022 Hi all, didnt post last week and l am behind the eight ball this week but here we go. Cyclone whats its name caused no trike flying over that period in fact the Saturday at home (we live on the coast) was probably the strongest wind l have experienced while living here in this country. Even the birds were walking, sure l saw a nude bin chicken( ilibus) with feathers missing. To compare the wind to NZ just a breezy day in Wellington. Three axis flight training has not been ...effected to much and both student progressing well. Took Rob in the Bantam for a change and seemed to enjoy the experience. Of course with the lack of trike flying due to the weather there is every man and his dog wanting to fly, but looks like l may have caught up. You may have heard of a slow boat from China ? well there is a slow boat from South Africa with a present on it for me...... Just saying Best you keep following my post. Have a great week and pilots fly safe. See more

07.01.2022 This weeks post and there is not much to post. Question though what is going on with the weather? The only day that has been fly able was Yesterday first thing, my trike flew with Neil doing a CFI check with Glen but thats about it. It will be interesting to see what happens with this low forming off the coast. What ever happens there is going to be wind

06.01.2022 Congratulations to Luke Gellion for passing his flight test and becoming a qualified pilot yesterday - very well done !

02.01.2022 Hi to you all its been a bit quiet on cab microlights face book but its my intentions to have a post each Monday now that l have Mondays off. Yep paper work day after the weekends flying with students. Almost all of the local trike pilots, one from Rocky and Gympie spent the 3 and 4 of Feb sitting a Rotax course set up by Kev Mc Nally form HGFA. A very worth while course not only the Rotax side of things but a lot of tips and tricks concerning trikes.Things have picked up after the Christmas break with maybe two new students. Interesting to note l am getting inquires from PPL pilots considering their options going forward. Till next week fly safe.

01.01.2022 Up date time. Yes its been a while since l last posted. Changes are at foot at Caboolture Microlight flight training, l have up dated the uniform, black shirt with a green trim and logo with black trousers. The web site is having a colour change along with an over all up date. The main reason for this is that we now have a change in the aircraft that we are using for training. l am pleased to announce that l have the use of a Tecnam P92 for three axis training. This is a gre...at high wing trainer and fun to fly. A big welcome to Rob and Duane who are my three axis students, Duane is doing an conversion from weight shift to three axis and Rob is new to the game and progressing really well. The fleet now consist of Tecnam and Bantam for three axis and the SST 912 trike for weight shift. Trike training (flying) is being held first thing in the morning, and last thing in the evening due to heat and wind conditions. Richard and myself have had some great late evening training flights. Till next post. fly safe. Morning flight to Caloundra for a touch and go.
