25.01.2022 Being part of a club at the moment is difficult. However here at the Caboolture Photography Club we have taken to new technology and have been having our meetings via Zoom. The members have embraced this new meeting format and it means we can get to "meet up" with other members, including those who now live interstate, whilst still being safe at home! Last night we were teated to an amazing presentation by Darren Jew, a 6 times winner of the Australian Nature Photographer of ...the Year Award, and a Canon Ambassador. Darren started out on his photography journey here at the Caboolture Photography Club when he was at high school and is one of the original founding members of our club. It was a great night. We still have our Facebook Members Group Photo-A-Day Challenge running as well as our Flickr Group. All our club competitions and Interclub competitions are still running also. We also have members competing and doing well in International Competition. Just another day at the club....albeit a slightly different one than usual. Stay Safe Everyone!! Cheers Chrissie President, Caboolture Photography Club Inc.

15.01.2022 Hi Everyone, It's Chrissie here, I'm the President of the Caboolture Photography Club. How are you all doing in these very strange and scary times? Even though a large number of our members are essentially housebound we are still keeping our photography going! And you can do the same!! You can head over and have a look at some great images on our new members only Flickr page here: https://www.flickr.com/groups/14715831@N23... Also at the moment we have a project called A Photo A Day running in our members only FB page and lots of us are having fun with that. Most of us are taking photos with our phones. If you want to join in please share your images here. we would love to see them! This week the subject is "Something Blue" so here is an image of mine to get you started. Hope you have some fun with this! Stay Safe Cheers Chrissie

14.01.2022 Sometimes, as photographers we worry so much about the settings on our camera, getting the right composition, finding the perfect location.....etc...etc...that we don't take the time to actually enjoy the beauty that is around us. This weekend, why not give yourself a break, put your camera on auto, and go out and just take pictures of things that give you joy. I think you will be amazed at just how good your images are when you stop worrying about technicalities. Post some of your images in the comments, we would love to see them!! Have a great weekend.
14.01.2022 Here are two photos that won honours awards at last weeks judging. Brendan "Locked in Paris" and Sheridan's "Wheel by the side of the road" There will be more winners photos to follow
12.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope many of you managed to visit the Photography Exhibit at the Caboolture Show Last weekend. There were some fantastic images entered into the competition again this year. If seeing these inspired some interest in photography then why not come along and check out our super-friendly club at one of our meetings. Club meetings are held at 7:30pm on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month at Fernhill Retirement Community Hall, (War Veteran's Home) 81 - 103 King Street, Caboolture. The first meeting of the month is when we have guest speakers or photography presentations, The Second meeting of the month is our judging night. And of course each evening ends with a cuppa, some great food and a chat. Come and see us soon, we'd love to meet you!!

11.01.2022 What a great speaker we had at our meeting last night. Lou Gilbert from Photographers Without Borders, shared her latest trip to India with us. In teams of 3 or 4, we had to make a story from photos that Lou gave us. It was interesting to see how each team interpreted the photos, and made a story with them. Some were similar, each one individual, no two were exactly alike, which brought to light, how we each see images, and what story we see in them.

05.01.2022 MEETINGS & OUTINGS CANCELLED In response to the COVID 19 (Corona Virus) situation, this morning the committee of the Caboolture Photography Club Inc. made the decision to suspend all club meetings and outings for a period of three months. The safety and wellbeing of our members and guests is our number one priority. We will review the situation after three months and continue to be guided by government and health department advice as to how we proceed. In the meantime, continue to enjoy your photography whilst keeping well away from crowded areas and other people. Stay Safe Everyone.
04.01.2022 Wow what a night at the Interclub Competition last night. Congratulations to Caboolture Photograghy Club, We did come third but the points were very close. There were only 20 points between 1st place (Peninsular) and 2nd place (Aspley) and then 20 points between Caboolture and Aspley. As John Keating said we could have won if each of our images scored only one half a point more:) A big congratulations to Marjorie Borissow and Peter Mitchelson winning two categories People and Street Photography. We had so many images in the finals, in fact four images in the Minimalism category. Their winning photos. 'Harry' People Category taken by Marjorie Borissow, and 'Looking Ahead' Street Category taken by Peter Mitchelson
04.01.2022 Lots of practice with some success. I think most people learnt that panning shots are not as easy to do well, as they thought they would be.
03.01.2022 Image of the Night for August is Thallon Silos by Lillian Wadelton, Congratulations Lillian!
