25.01.2022 Yesterday we had a special visit from Miss Kym who taught us all about healthy eating, healthy foods, healthy bodies, and the importance of the 5 food groups and how to pack each food group in to our lunchbox for school next year. The children took turns at identifying the different foods, and showing Miss Kym where those foods belonged in the food groups. The children received their very own lunchbox which we will be using at the Centre to start lunchbox days until the end of the term. #QCCS #healthyeating #healthyfood #childcare #caboolture

24.01.2022 Today is National Tree Day for School. National Tree Day research found approximately 55% of Australians felt that time in nature improved their mood or eased anxieties during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Following the cancellation of public planting events for the first time in 25 years, were encouraging everyone to share a photo connecting with nature by planting a tree or simply hugging a tree #HugaTreeforNTD! 24.01.2022 Late last week we received some new tables, which the children have been eagerly using for meal times. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore family style meal settings, sitting at the table and sharing in conversation as we enjoy our food. The opportunity to engage in conversations supports language, building relationships, and role modelling as we eat together practicing our social development skills and demonstrating our sense of belonging within the Caboolture Central Early Education community. A wonderful space to practice these skills and enjoy our meals! #FamilyStyle #QCCS

23.01.2022 Its book week! This week we are celebrating our love of books by sharing stories within the room. Each day, children are encouraged to bring stories from home to share. This has been a wonderful way to explore our interests further and expand our literacy as we engage in sharing stories of all different styles. ... Today, we shared Emmas Bow, which our friend Stella brought from home. Stella was very excited to share this story with us, and we enjoyed reading it together! We cant wait to see what other amazing stories we get to explore and share in the coming days! #BookWeek #QCCS

23.01.2022 The development of fine motor skills is fundamental to childrens learning and development for the development of literacy and writing, as these muscles and the skills within are the same as what we use to write and draw with. Miss Kath thought a good way to explore these skills and practice hand-eye coordination would be to engage in a beading experience. The children all enjoyed having a go of threading, practicing their fine motor development and their hand-eye coordination. The active engagement within this experience was evident as children engaged and explored their skills, challenging themselves with persistence and patience. What a lovely experience that was thoroughly enjoyed by all! #LoveLearning #QCCS

21.01.2022 On Tuesday, the Kindergarten children celebrated NADIOC Week by learning about Aboriginal Totems. Our group learning began by learning about the letter T. The children did an excellent job at identifying the sound of the letter T in many words. They practiced saying the sound of the letter and also used our magic pointing fingers to write the letter T in the air. Once the Kindergarten children learnt about the letter and sound for T, they were introduced to Aboriginal To...tems. This activity was implemented to celebrate NADIOC Week. The children participated in a small quiz to find out what Aboriginal Totem they were. Once they discovered what Totem they were, they had the opportunity to paint a Totem. They used giant swab tips and different coloured paints to create beautiful Totems to celebrate their animal spirits. #totems #aboriginal #QCCS #NAIDOCWeek2020 #NAIDOC2020

Remembrance Day in Australia is dedicated to Australians who died as a result of war, particularly from World War I onwards. A minute of silence is dedicated to the deceased, especially for soldiers who died fighting to protect the nation. #remembranceday #QCCS #wewillrememberthem

18.01.2022 Yesterday the Kindergarten children went on an excursion to Centenary Lakes to explore the natural environment This was a wonderful experience as children were able to engage using their senses (touch, smell, hear , see ). The children enjoyed exploring the space, using their magnifying glasses to investigate the world around them. The childrens physical development was supported as they were able to explore natural pathways, run, jump and climb around the environment. What a wonderful way to spend our morning!

18.01.2022 Stomp Stomp Stomp! Today Junior Kindy children created play dough to play with our dinosaurs. We decided to make green play dough so the children can role play with the dinosaurs stomping on grass. The children used their imagination that the dinosaurs were eating the grass. Toddlers can role-play dinosaurs themselves, which is great for engaging large motor skills, or they can create a small world with mini dinosaur figures, which supports fine motor skills. ... #childcare #caboolture #brisbane #earlylearning #roleplay #dinosaur #QCCS #earlychildhood

17.01.2022 Messy play supports children to develop their senses as they can touch, see, smell and even hear as they engage within the hands on experience. In the lead up to the experience, the children were intrigued as Miss Zalia set up. Language development was supported and evident as children utilised their communication skills to ask questions, eagerly anticipating the upcoming experience. The experience was enjoyed by the group of children, and they excitedly created their masterpieces using the coloured shaving foam and their hands. A lovely Tuesday activity! #LoveLearning #QCCS

15.01.2022 The children in the Junior Kindy Room have demonstrated a strong interest in climbing, so we decided to bring the ladder from the obstacle course inside to explore this in a new context. Challenging our coordination, we stepped through the ladder rungs as it was laying on the ground. This was a great new experience which the children enjoyed exploring as they took turns demonstrating their social and emotional development, taking turns to step through the course. What a wonderful way to practice our physical and social skills! Even Miss Tash joined in for a go! A great challenge for a Wednesday morning! #LoveLearning #QCCS

05.01.2022 In the Nursery we have been concentrating on our sense of touch, and this time we used our feet as we walked in one bucket at a time to feel the different textures under our feet. We felt the soft sand, the crunchy dead leaves, the rough bark, the rough small rocks and the soft green leaves. The younger babies sat in front of the buckets and used their hands to feel the different sensory experiences. #LoveLearning #QCCS
